Gaming New Pokemon Revealed - "Meltan" - Pokemon Go & Let's Go

Courtesy of the official Twitter page (https://twitter.com/Pokemon) , the new pokemon that surprised everyone on Pokemon Go's last community day has finally been named.

Meet Meltan

This is the pokemon previously hinted as being a new release for Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee. Signs point to the only way of getting this Pokemon in Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee is by first capturing it in Pokemon Go. The Pokemon is currently "available" in Pokemon Go, but not currently catchable. Catching the Pokemon in Pokemon Go right now just gives you a ditto.

"Research is being conducted on these appearances of Meltan, but we have learned that Pokémon GO is somehow key to meeting this curious new Pokémon in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! We’ll be sure to provide updates as we discover more!"​

I was really hoping they'd do something clever with it. Like it was actually some hidden pokemon and ditto could only copy bits of it. but nope, it really does look like...this. it's so tiny!

It does say it stores electricity, so I'm guessing a lot of electrical moves, even if it's steel only?

Jesus, this game screams "beta testing". GameFreak is not even doing the minimum to make a decent game, knowing this game will sell like hot cakes just for being a traditional Pokémon game + nostalgia from gen 1 fans.

itspure metal it says so on the reveal... also its a mythical pokemon so almost likely it doesn't evolve, maybe someday it will get a mega evolution.

From the latest video they released, it looks like Meltan is going to evolve or has another form similar to Zygarde cell.

To be fairly honest, i used to hate Pokemon Let's Go overall, but over time my mindset has changed upon it. I still think it's not an awesome game, but certainly not the end of the world. Thinking that Nintendo didn't prepare big games with a lot of effort because they expected the Switch to be a failure certainly comforts me. I think there will be better games but most importantly, that the new pokémon (2019) wil be waaay better.

Either way, i quite like Meltan. The design is basic, but the personality of it is captivating imo. I'm way more interested in the evolution/form of Meltan they showed us a bit of.

Same here. The design is as basic as the first generation and I wasn't expecting that it would be a Mythical Pokemon.
