Why are you crying? Why are you blaming Nintendo for protecting their system? Beside that, third party developers demand this kind of action.

We should get used to it, sony do this all the time, nintendo did it many times on DSi, and, as Catboy said, if you don't want, just hit "no" and stop complaining.

Now on topic, does anyone has a REAL changelog? I cant find it at all.

except that releasing an update just to block flash carts of a last gen system is just stupid. they should be spending more time and money towards adding things to the 3ds itself. what is the deal with the lack of demos on the eshop? they're just a random collection with no logic whatsoever. the same can be said about the eshop game releases. for those who r using flash carts, all this does is tells gamers not to access the eshop which equates to less potential customers. with virtually every update blocking flash carts, most expect all updates to do this.

Nintendo is starting to be annoying with these updates.
They do nothing but block flashcards
I would be happy to see a update that give us flash support,
or html5 support,
or/and a youtube app.
...
Furthermore no one is forcing you to update.

Indirectly, Nintendo is.

-------------------------------------

I see, unfortunately, Nintendo is falling back into their DSi update thing where the ONLY thing they update is anti-flashcarts. (NEVER, or VERY RARELY, making the system better)

Sounds like Nintendo follows suit with everyone else then if you think of it that way. They make the terms, and you get to choose the option. Either update and lose flashcard support, or not update and be unable to use the software. The fact you even get a choice means they aren't forcing you into anything.

...bleh... Another update, and people complaining. Am I surprised? No. Nintendo has any and every right to do this, and I applaud them for it. If you want to keep playing your DS roms (illegally)? Go buy a DSi, or even a DS Lite. Are they flying through the numbers at a ridiculous pace? Yea... I mean, I feel we should be at firmware 2.5... Somewhere around there...

..and no, I'm not saying I'm innocent of piracy. Just doesn't make sense to assume a lot of things. Ironic, huh?

Yeah, except for the fact that they're still releasing first party titles for the DS/DSi. Pokemon Black and White 2 would like a word with you.

Anyways - time to buy my little brother a DSTWO, methinks. Better that than have him ask me every day if an update dropped.

i wish there was a flashcard maker out there that would release a fashcard DS/DSi mode compatible. that didn't support piracy/retail roms. so nintendo didn't have to worry about piracy & blocking out cards every update. >.>

well, I'm talking about releasing updates that just block flash carts and nothing beyond that. that is, after all, all they seem to do. it seems like the smarter move to release firmware updates when they actually have something meaningful to them such as added features. blocking flash carts might be fair there considering there's a reason to update. plus, some flash carts either rarely have updates anymore or take weeks to release one to circumvent new protection. most who fall into that category won't access the eshop or go online during that time hurting potential sells on the eshop. if it were me, I sure wouldn't. I'm not saying nintendo shouldn't protect their system, but if all they're releasing updates for is to block flash carts for the current system's predecessor, a lot of the potential for system will be lost.

Phew, lucky I saw this before going to the Eshop today.

EDIT: How come I don't get notifications for the update like everyone else?
