Help Please. I updated my Luma to the newest one and once i got on godmode9 to finalize the script i got a error #03 missing files finalize does not exist. My 3ds was already modded when i bought it. it was on luma v6.6. On the 3ds hacks guide page it says i just need those 2 files, so i put them where they have to go and i still get that error. I am a complete noob at this so any and all help is welcome.

If it was luma 6.6 then the system was still running Arm9LoaderHax. You need to update the system to Boot9Strap since every luma version after 7.0.5 doesn't support A9LH

https://3ds.hacks.guide/a9lh-to-b9s
I already updated to Boot9Strap, im trying to finalize the script but its missing the finalize folder. i cant seem to find that folder anywhere online

If there was a folder that you needed, it would be in the Guide. If you want more help, you are going to have to be more precise about exactly what you have done so far. The more precise you are, the more likely someone will be able to suggest what you may be doing wrong.

I've never been on one of these forums so i didn't know that I couldn't do that.
Take your time and look around! What do you think this forum would look like if everyone started a thread named "Need help"?

Got it thanks. Yea so i updated using a video from Sthetix from Luma v6.6 to the newest one v12, so I got to the part where I open Godmode9 and i have to finalize using the script tab and once i get a error #03 missing finalize file. The video I followed was "3ds finalizing setup -updated guide". I downloaded his finalize.zip and it seems to be missing a folder for 'Finalize". It seems i can boot up everything else tho, like Rosalina and Homebrew app. Which im kinda not the fastest at modding since all was already done on this 3ds.

Videos should always be a secondary source for how to do these things, not a primary source. Your primary source on how to do these things should be 3ds.hacks.guide. That's not to say Sthetix's videos aren't good, they generally are great at showing you how to do things for the most part. However, 3ds.hacks.guide stays on top of things and will provide links to everything you need. Here's their finalizing set up section:

https://3ds.hacks.guide/finalizing-setup

Hope this helps!

I tried following that guide but hit a snag on Section IV - Setup Script
I get a error saying missing files for finalize, although I did set them up in the proper folders. I checked there troubleshooting section and my error code doesn't appear on there page.

You downloaded the files on that page? finalize_helper.firm and finalize.romfs? finalize.romfs is in the root of the SD card that goes in your 3DS, and finalize_helper.firm is in SD:/luma/payloads ?

What step in Section IV did you hit the snag? Also, when you hold down the Select and Power button to get to the Luma3DS screen, what version does it say?

Yes finalize.romfd is in the root and finalize_helper.firm is in payloads.
I'm on Luma v13.0.2

This makes me wonder if there isn't something wonky with GodMode9. When you hold down Start and Power on the 3DS, what version of GodMode9 does it say you're running?

This is what I get. I copied everything inside of the finalize.zip

I would suggest starting over from the very the beginning of the 3ds.hacks guide and ignoring anything from the video.
How can I Uninstall everything from the mod then so I can redo everything? Or should I just follow the steps without removing anything?

Never do the "start from scratch"-thing on 3DS. Uninstalling CFW is a bad idea and starting from the very beginning a horrible advise, that pops up regularly and has caused many issues.

In the best case this route it is a waste of time.

Where did you get the finalize.zip? I just did a CFW on an O3DS like yours and didn't have an issue, so was the finalize.zip on your SD card when you got to Step 7? When you start up the 3DS with just the power button, what's on your Home Screen?

I would suggest starting over from the very the beginning of the 3ds.hacks guide and ignoring anything from the video.
Why? The Luma is already on there. Finalization should be the easy part. We used to do this manually.

I downloaded the finalize.zip from the download page from sthetix guide, then extracted the files, added them like the guide said, I followed everything after the upgrade from luma v6.6 to the latest. When I turn on the 3ds with just the power button it boots up like a normal 3ds

I'm not actively following all changes on 3ds.hacks.guide trying to make things easier and more automated each time.
I downloaded the finalize.zip from the download page from sthetix guide,
There you could have your problem. Probably outdated file not fitting to what is on the guide right now.

The error message about missing files could also indicate problems with the SD. Start by booting into finalize_helper.firm again with finalize.romfs being on SD. Should be an automatic process, but I have not read that script yet.

Okay, on the SD card for your system, in the root of it, is there a boot.3dsx and a boot.firm? Is there anything on your Home Screen that wasn't there before you started the process?

I'll have to check the guide then again.
