This is something I saw on osu!'s forum today and thought would be really useful to implement here as well.
If a thread hasn't been replied to in a while (say 2 weeks or a month), this ticker will appear above the quick reply textbox. It won't prevent you from posting or anything, but will remind you not to post if you don't have to.

What if someone is necrobumping a thread because they think if they make a new thread the persons question will be ignored instead of posting in a already well established thread? Just curious.
As it stands now, we look at necrobumps on a case by case basis. If it actually adds to the discussion, is beneficial for future readers, is relevant etc, we usually don't mind them.

I'm not against the idea, but I find the mockup not visible enough.
a different size, location, or message based on how long it has been inactive is a good idea.
maybe a better explanation to what's fine to post can be displayed.

I don't think 1-2 months old is necrobum, some users asked for help and didn't get it for 2 month, it's fine to reply.
I'd put the mark at a year old. but, like said, it's more a case by case basis.

I dunno, personally I'd make it appear after about 2 months. Necros, if helpful aren't bad. It's mainly for people who feel like replying "Nice." to a 3-year old thread.
