Okay. So I attempted to do a hard mod directly to the motherboard to make a NAND backup which went perfectly fine and I made a backup but, to my surprise, whenever I try to turn the system on it makes a loud pop and the top screen flashes very briefly. I've checked all the ribbon cables and they look fine. As I was "interneting" I found many people saying that the problem only happens when a ribbon cable is damaged or loose but inot my case it isn't.
I looked closely at the motherboard and it seemed as if the resistor array to the left of the clock test pad (the one that says 095) had the bottom right two pins had been soldered together although I highly doubt it.
I don't want to risk damaging the device further but I want to know of this could cause the device to fail to boot
SOLVED: There was a 2 pin flat flex connector that I believe powered the cartridge board which was loose and needed to be taped down. Thanks to the people who helped
EDIT2: Ok, I've come to the conclusion that the resistor array i soldered together by accident has destroyed the WiFi functionality. The MAC address of the device shows up as all zeros and when I turn WiFi on, the device crashes. Rip me.
