Hacking my homebrew doesn't detect my HDD anymore

my homebrew channel stopped detecting my homebrew apps from my hd, I just freshly installed the wii after a format and once i plug in my hd it blinks red then stops. its brand new I got it today and my Wii is the white launch model; and i used the str8hax to get homebrew, im kinda new and im used to hacking my vwii but i wanted to hack my original because the disc slot stopped worked for some reason. before it stopped working it also didnt let me download a theme for my wii menu which was very odd. can anymore help ( also i cannot use a sd card because it doesn't detect my 8gb one )

Is the SD card not being detected a new symptom along with the HDD, or was it always like that? If the latter then this sounds more like a hardware problem than anything else, can't give advice apart from repair/replacement.

my hd was always working before it just stopped

and the sd card gets detected just it says the dsi error

and ive tried slot 0 and slot 1

lastly when its in my computer it says that its empty when it has my apps so it could be a hard drive issue

UPDATE !!!!!! It detects my usb drive but it does the exception (DSI) Occurred! im going to try to format it to Fat32 and see if it fixes it
