Personally, I use the Fatalis axe for it's high Blast value and element phial, so I would opt for Bombardier in that set. However, if you were using any other axe, including the Lightbreak Axe (with it's Power Phial), Attack Up L would probably serve you better. Of course, if you're also up against one of the few monsters not overly susceptible to blast, it's probably best to leave Bombardier behind as well.
I got super lucky with the talisman, Sharpness +6/Evasion +8 if I remember correctly. Put it with a mixed set with Empress Helm, Furious Rajang Chest, Rusted Kushala Arms, Furious Rajang Waist and Rathalos Legs. Comes with Honed Blade naturally and a bunch of points into other skills like Sharpness and Element Atk Up, so it's a good general purpose base set.

Nice! Yea I'll have to try adding in Bombardier and see how that works out.

Ummm, you were added to the OP yesterday and on my 3DS friend's list. I can't speak for everyone else though. Good luck.

okay I made my armor set with Sharpness+1, Razor Sharp, Evade+1, Evade Distance, Bombardier, and Attack+M. I have to use the Ukanlos helmet which is ugly IMO. Now, using Athena's ASS, I see I can swap in Attack+L and use a much cooler looking helmet if I have a 3 slot weapon. Now understand, I've spent 80% of my 200+ hours playing Swaxe and the other 20% playing Great Sword...but I see the Charge Blade and the SnS have great 3 slot blast Fatalis weapons so now which one do I go for? Does the evasion skills come in more handy with one more than the other? Or is evasion a complete waste since both have blocking abilities.... UGH! decisions! I'd just get both but I don't wanna farm Fatalis that much.

Haha, fashion matters just as much as skills, right? Such a serious dilemma when mixing sets..
I'm by no means an expert on Charge Blades, but I've generally found Guard skills more handy than Evasion for the most part. SnS rarely makes use of that blocking ability though, so if you want to stick with that set, SnS seems like a better fit.
My 400 odd hours of playing have been split between SnS, Hammer, SA and LBG/HBG, with some Charge Blade as well. I'm looking to make some more Fatalis weapons myself, so perhaps we can help each other out on that one. =3

On the sns the shield is really crappy and is really only good for blocking roars, though it's a good fall back if you cant get out of the way of a charging monster. Because it can also roll out of almost any attack it greatly benefits from having evasion skills.
The shield on the cb can be as good as a shield on a lance, plus it has guard points, so it can block at a moments notice if need be whilst also dealing damage. Evasion is really only good for if your not going to use guard points, or you just suck at it.

Shoot. I had my heart set on going Charge Blade over SnS...lol. I may still anyways. Still have time to decide while I get some Devileyes. Or just get both :-P One thing I read about Charge Blade and guard points is that focusing on a guard point build is really only helpful when playing solo since the monster always has their focus on you. You attack, it attacks, you block, you attack back. Online though the monster attacks everyone and it can be more helpful to have evasion. Of course this was just some random person's opinion. I'll have to try for myself I guess.

I'm loving the charge blade! using the fatalis CB and it's just destroying everything. Now I just need to build CBs for monsters that have high blast defense. Oh man! It's like a brand new game. I still kinda suck at it. Sometimes recharge instead of switching to axe and vice versa. Sometimes I do that super ultra knockout blast thing but I swing in the opposite direction and miss completely.

My charge blade set. looks very similar to my 'doom' switchaxe set except different arm pieces. I love the Darth Maul looking S.Jho helmet though so much. It has a pulsating red glow.

...reading more about CB strategies...looks like I need to swap out my evasion skills and put in guard skills and start practicing Guard Points...which is what micky93 suggested in the first place.

ugh. maybe it's my 500 hours in MH3U and 200 hours in MH4U with Switchaxe and evasion but I'm having a hard time with all this guarding. I did make an armor set with Attack Up+ XL, Guard+2, Sharpness+1, Razor Sharp, Bombardier...but I'm already missing my mobility...plus I dont look as cool.

You can always find your own way to play the weapon. No need to limit yourself to the standard strategy if it feels awkward to you. You might even discover something totally unique like how evade lancing is a thing

I haven't disappeared...just been busy IRL and playing Witcher 3. Was debating getting Splatoon but it just doesn't seem like a complete game yet. Also, did everyone else see the trailer for MHX? I'm going to have to learn Japanese!

I'm hoping it gets localized, but I get the feeling that it won't since it is a spinoff

Anyone want to take the lead on creating & monitoring a similar thread for Monster Hunter Generations? I would, but too much IRL crap going on to maintain it.
