/vp/ Guy claims he has a .cia about to be posted, apparently he's been dumping and uploading since late last night/whatever time zone he's in.

So, I'll take the bait and test it. What should I do in preparation, besides obviously turning wifi off before installation?

Edit: Just to be clear, he claims it's an Ultra Sun cia.

Yeah, I'm wondering what I should do in preparation, and (if real) post-release.

In preparation, I obviously have backup my SysNAND and turn wireless off. Backup Activity Log

On release, I obviously have uninstall, reinstall, mod save and Pokemon to display release day as time caught. Also restore Activity Log Backup.

Anything else on either end?

Does backing up and later restoring the sysNAND also do the same for Activity Logs? I might just restore SysNAND on release day if it does (in addition to modding the save and waiting play hours to connect online to appear as though I first played it on the 17th)

Do I just change my trainer information from UM to US in pkhex to use my UM save on US?

Edit. Nvm found the moon to sun and visa versa post. Need to change that and the time offset in my trainer information.

No need to change anything, just import to US directly! Make sure to have launched the game at least once though and to have a save file on it to overwrite in order to avoid any issues, then import with JKSM/Checkpoint.

Useless to change any time-related data :
You can change the date on your 3DS, so legit player can have a savegame that display "2015".

It's the same thing for Pokémon legallity : Game Freak never look to the date for this you can easily having Pokémon with exotic date. ( I myself have 100% legal Pokémon that I removed several months after the event at the Pokémon Center ... The date does not match the official date but the Pokémon has no reason to be recognized as a hack )

Date DOES matter for legality in many things, like PGL syncing can flag you, PWC competitions won't let you use them and so on!

I thought PS4/5 and Xbox One emulation would be kind of easy since they basically just a PC
