Homebrew [Idea]beardface's coverflow+ MPlayer= MPlayer coverflow with

I was wondering how the old usb loader was like todays current MPlayer's, then a crazy idea struck me what if someone could add a few modifications to a loader(using beardface's as an example)to make the music/video file look for an img file of the exact same name, being as they have no ID.
So basicly it'll be a MPlayer with images, if someone likes this idea enough it might even be a coverflow.
Please don't flame this topic just politely say its a bad idea if necessary.

i whole heartedly agree that the LOADER teams should mod their soucre so there are gui versions of wad manager and mplayer with the same style. i undestand this is alot of work, but i know it is possible

I've thought about this for a while.
I would go mad for it.
Beadface's GUI would be perfect.

You could have DVD covers in place of Wii Games, then you just flick through and it directs to an avi.

which is better, geexbox or mplayer ce? I know mplayer doesnt recognise my wbds partioned drive but geexbox does.

i use mplayer ce myself, but geexbox is linux based, so it supports more hdds

it would be really nice to have emulators with coverflow *dreaming of wii64 with coverflow*

Geexbox will see all partitions on a harddrive. It can also read NTFS. USB 1.1 Speed only.

MPlayer CE can only see the 1st partition on a harddrive and cannot read NTFS only FAT / FAT32. Has USB 2.0 Speed.

first of all, i think wii64 needs more speed optimization than a gui rehall.

So the only advantage geexbox has is more hdd compatibility?

Yeah GeeXbox would be the best.
I have MPlayer and it does see all partitions on a drive,but it can't read ntsf

so Geexbox would be the best

2) Download Devkit pro, install on your pc
3) get C++/C for dummies book
4) Struggle
5) ... ?
6) Profit!

So am I, but I'm thinking of having a go at a homebrew loader. Won't learn how unless I try, and there's plenty of GPL code out there to look through. Maybe a few of us codeing novices could get together on this?

With MPlayer CE + USB 2.0 speed, you would be able to play ANY sized video file with no delays, stutterings, skips, etc.. as long as the file isnt HD-quality (h264 1280x720).

USB 2.0 speed >>>> NTFS compatibility.
