A selection of my all time favourite gaems/IPs:
Shin Megami Tensei/Persona - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shin_Megami_Tensei_X_Fire_Emblem
Trauma Center - http://n4g.com/news/1395743/what-is-atlus-teasing-trauma-team-for-wii-u-and-3ds
The Last of Us - err .. not on a wiiu lol.
Valkyria Chronicles - http://n4g.com/news/1309172/sega-teases-something-to-happen-about-valkyria-chronicles
Ys - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X_(2014_video_game) - i guess
Ace Attorney - https://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/36294
Metal Gear Solid - Konami did speak of a MGS1 remake and they hold the rights to Two snakes ... not impossible.
Mario - :)
999/VLR - http://www.cubed3.com/news/18589/1/zero-escape-virtue-last-reward-creator-would-consider-wii-u.html
Catherine - maybe . Atlus seems to be coming around to the WiiU
Half Life - http://www.thegamingliberty.com/2012/04/half-life-3-confirmed-exclusive-to-wii-u/ . lmfao ... wouldnt that be funny.

Although nothing is set in stone or currently released aside from mario of course.. there does seem to be a fair bit of potential regarding the games you mentioned...

get it now and play mario ... or wait and see.. but the price is very nice.. compared my fukkin launch one anyways :)

If the Wii U's getting a Persona game, it's only a port, and even then probably an Arena 2 port. Otherwise it would've been announced with the other half-dozen Persona games they just announced.

Given that it's been almost a full year since SMTxFE's announcement, with no news since, and Atlus being bought out by Sega, I don't have a whole lot of hope for its future either.

Rumors?
The only Persona rumors we got were from Nintendo fans.
Ah, shucks. You're right. I only remembered the article, but never checked the sources. My apologies. :(

At least Persona Q is coming to 3DS, so good things may happen. :)

emigre: Nah, I'm just super pumped for the upcoming games. I played through Megami Tensei games in the 90s before they were cool! Lol

If Persona Q flops say bye-bye to future Persona games on Nintendo consoles.
Still gonna buy it.

If anything, keep it, then jailbreak the vWii. Wiis are much better jailbroken. That, or just download a ton of Virtual Console games.

If you paid that for it I would say keep it, once you get it you'll like it, unless you bought one just to say how "Nintendo is doomed!". The Wii U isn't a bad console just marketed wrong with little software.

cancel your order put your money toward a ps4

Own what you want. I already have a Wii U and plan on buying an Xbox One and a PS4. I already own every Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft console. Might as well not stop now. I have fun with my Wii U. The only thing that compares in playing time at the moment is my PC. I'll give you a better library list of what to expect.

I would have cancelled the order. There is pretty much nothing worth buying on the Wii U unless you're in love with Nintendo's tried and true, but becoming stale IPs.

Well Emigre, with that gaming preference it's safe to say that the Wii U wouldn't be suitable for you.

Just buy the console and games you like, it's what I do.

Guise, I cancelled the Wii U. I did however buy a Kindle.

Holy shit I just got a Kindle Fire HD for like $89. Great minds think alike.

Unlike whoever buys a Wii U. Cough cough.

You bought a Wii U without games included? The ones in my stores come with NSMB U and NSL U for that same price...

He needs games with his console not crap.

All the better to spark some flames here, eh?

Pretty good purchase, actually. I love my Kindle to death, and Amazon's prices are actually reasonable compared to what, say, Apple offers.

I would have cancelled the order. There is pretty much nothing worth buying on the Wii U unless you're in love with Nintendo's tried and true, but becoming stale IPs.
Let's face it, current eighth generation consoles (i.e. PS4, XB1, Wii U) all have mediocre libraries. Which is understandable since it's been only a year for the Wii U since launch and mere months for the other two. That said, Wii U has more games available due to the fact it released with a 1 year headstart.

Let's also not forget backwards compatibility, which is not available for either PS4 or XB1. So if you never had the chance to play Wii games, the Wii U has you covered. A nice bonus if you ask me. Then there's games that are multiplatform, but have better features in the Wii U versions. Even Need for Speed: Most Wanted from EA is better on a Wii U than other consoles, read any review. (Which is funny considering EA has dropped support for the Wii U.)

Finally, if you like Nintendo and Ubisoft, then Wii U is the top choice for you. From Rayman Legends to Just Dance 2014, Ubisoft games just have that extra polish to them that make the Wii U versions stand out from the rest. Can't wait to see what Watch_Dogs will be like on the Wii U. So, you don't necessarily have to play Nintendo games, but they are arguably some of the best games in the entire industry. Nintendo has been making excellent games in the past few years, even Super Mario 3D World is topping review scores and charts despite being the "same old Mario over and over again". Add to the fact that this year will see the release of some must-have exclusives like Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros. 4, and possibly X and Bayonetta 2. I'm sure they're all going to be system sellers and chart hits. But if you don't like those games, that's fine. That's why there's choice. (Especially if you are into EA games, in which case the Wii U is the worst choice possible.)
