I updated my 4.5 o3ds sysnand using gw with 2.2 launcher and a rom with 9.2.
It got me to 9.2.0-10, then I made a new emunand, used the 3dnus 9.2.0-20 cias on it and I got to 9.2.0-20 which I then flashed to sysnand using gw.

Easy and no brick.

I'm doing this guide because a lot of peoples asked how to do that recently.
I won't talk about the n3ds because ninjhax (which is required for the pasta cfw) doesn't work on 8.1J, and there's is no point in upgrading a 9.0 n3ds.

1. Download and launch 3DNUS
2. Type 9.2.0-20 in title id, and your region in version (EUR, USA or JPN)
3. It will create a 9.2.0-20 folder and download a bunch of cias in it, while it's downloading, download sysupdater and put the cia version on your sd card, then create a 'updates' folder in your sdcard root.
4. After the download finished, copy all the cias files from the 9.2.0-20 folder to the updates folder
5. Start Pasta, install sysupdater.
6. Launch sysupdater then follow the instructions


PS : If you're on 4.X, you can also use PBT instead of Pasta, but never upgrade while in gateway mode or you'll likely brick your console.

So I just tried this. Atempted to install 9.2.0-20 USA and the 3DS ended up in 9.0.0-20.
Plus 2 CIA files could not be installed (not even with DevMenu). 0004001000021300 (Health and Safety Information ) and 0004001B00018202.

It's a bug.
Download this two cia with 3DNUS according to your region and put it on updates folder

The CIAs are packed very fast. Double-click make_cdn_cia once and uncheck the box that says to always ask for your permission to run it.

Ge the latest 3DNUS (1.9) . Also make_cdn_cia is responsible for the CIA creation.

I have accidentaly a wrong version wroted in 3Nus.
I wrot 9.2.0-20 E instead 9.2.0-20 EUR.
And now i have updated my 3ds to 9.0.0-20E.
But i have backed up my NAND in GW launcher mode (4.5.0-10e) before i updated the system.

Can i restoring the NAND via GW launcher and start the update process from the begining?

In the app they say "if you are using the cia version you can just close it now"does it mean it is safer/needed to be lauched from ninjhax or it means nothing

Now Pasta has a bootable Launcher.dat for 4.x.
It uses GW Bluecard installer to boot.
If using this to boot Pasta, will the sysupdater brick the 4.x console?
