A few thousand dollars likely paying developers for their time isn't cheap since they need to be able to live their own lives too


You would need to learn C since you're essentially coding the whole game and engine from scratch. Which isn't terrible if you know the language. But if you don't know it the likely hood of being able to make a game on the system is low without that prior experience

Godot is a great resource for learning to make games tho and is a lot easier. Plus it supports most devices now thanks to Godot 4(assuming you get certain licenses)

It's really not that bad with libnds. There's some decent examples on YouTube, and it includes sample examples. It would be helpful to find a copy of Citra to test things out on since it'll be a pain to test on actual hardware.
