so I've successfully installed games onto my nand but I bought a 2tb hard drive and the Wii U reads and so does wup installer but the installation stops and says my hard drive has been removed I also have a y cable and it says that always around 3% of the installation if you could please help it would be appreciated!

What HDD you have?
Disable HDD sleep option in System Settings -> Data Management (You can trigger it by doing special button combo, google it. I forgot it, okay?)

- Turn on your Wii U
- Go to Settings
- Go to Data Management
- Press and hold down on the D-Pad for about half a second
- While holding down down on the D-Pad, press and hold the + and - buttons and keep them pressed down until you see a prompt referring to the HDD sleep mode
- Select disable - you will be advised that this setting might consume more energy
