I'm already pm him, so things keep in english here.

I understand the sky can be block any time, but even if it happens this will not affect my other real games, right?

If you have a real game updating your 3ds wont matter since well... the game is real.If your asking about a ban by using sky then yes that would effect your real game usage.

Then you only Need a gateway card, to disable online functions for a game just name the file from Superfungame.3DZ (online capable) to Superfungame.3DS (offline game) or you can convert your games to the CIA format and run them from your SD card without using gateway if you need to.

We in Brazil are passing problems with customs, needing to pay 70% of the value of product in taxes.

Paying U$ 60,00 in your gateway, is more expensive than buying a new one in Brazil. Can you believe that?

Duty Rates
Duty rates in the U.S. can be ad valorem (as a percentage of value) or specific (dollars/cents per unit). Duty rates vary from 0% to 37.5%, with the average duty rate being 5.63%. Some goods are not subject to duty (e.g. some electronic products, or original paintings and antiques over 100 years old).
Duty is not charged if the value of the imported goods is up to US$200.
Im going to list the card on ebay as a normal 3ds game there shouldn't be any increased tax to pay for shipping since its being done through either fedex or USPS

that still makes little to no sense if you buy something on ebay and pay for shipping at a set price on ebay how will any type of tax or fee be added to the final price?

Buying to US is ok, but to Brazil, it expands 2 or 3 months in customs, and then the taxes are 70%. Oh! another strange thing: we pay taxes over the ship again!! this is ilarious...

They open the package, and calculate the price. Even if the ticket says 1 dollar.

Shipping to brazil first class is $9.15 but he would get the card on May 7-jun 16th thats kind of long but regardless the base value of a gateway card is 20$ less than a sky3ds card.

Yes, u got it.

I have real game which will be played online, and i want the sky3ds\gateway only to play offline Roms.

My only fear is that somehow i can be banned by playing OFFLINE on the sky, is it possible?

I just want the simplest and more effective way.

And thanks a lot Xenon,(i dont know how to mark people here in the forums), i really apreciatte ur wish to help me by selling ur gateway, but as Frighs said, import something here to brazil (especially electronics) is big headache

I can manage to buy a gateway, but as seems for now, at least for me, sky looks more simple to use

Sorry for the delay guys, had to go back home from work

So, basically

If i have sky and update it normally by the console, my normal games will work and also the sky, but if nintendo happens to be able to block it, only my original game will work? (and gateway will never work)

On the other hand, if i choose the gateway, i'm depending on the comunnity to be able to play online when an updates comes? (cause i cant update)

Is that the real choice i should do when buying either a sky3ds or a gateway?
You have to rely on the community to provide updates for the moment, but once GW release their update that won't be the case anymore.

Gateway is hard at work on making 9.6 emuNAND work. They are normally very quick at fixing emuNAND when Nintendo releases a new update, but the encryption changed recently and they haven't figured out how to crack it yet.
So normally you wouldn't have to worry about updates but in this case it's taking a lot longer for GW to release an update. Still it's no problem to get a CIA of the update.

There is a bit more waiting with GW because it's more of a software hack whereas Sky3DS is pure hardware, so it has to be kept up to date with system updates all the time. That's one of the few downsides of it, but I think the upsides outweigh the downsides by far :)

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
