Gaming Has anyone else heard of a Wii U loyalty discount?

Something like if you've had a Wii U linked to your account since 2014 and have spent at least $500 in the Wii U eShop, you're eligible for 20% discounts throughout the Switch eShop? Has anyone else heard of this as I can't seem to find anything.

I have no idea what you're talking about. First time I've heard of such a thing. If it exists, chances are they'll mention it on the 12th, or at least I'd think so.

Nothing is official yet regarding any sort of discounts for Wii U owners.

That's not what I heard. Seems having spent a minimum of $500 or some other number in the eShop is one of the criteria for obtaining the Loyalty Discount. Sucks for those that bought the disks, but they probably prefer cartridges anyways. Can't make it too easy to abuse by people who bought the Wii U then immediately resold it without investing in the platform.
