I don't see update on list under Parental Control setting. There is nothing there.

Just remove any Wifi configuration.... It can't connect online without the codes, can it? And this just in case young kids use it who could flip the switch...

If you activate parental control, you or anybody else, needs to type a code to change any internet options.

So if you deactivated wifi, activate parental control and nobody can add an internet connection without knowing the code.

That's what they mean.

I wont buy it. The blue card is a R4i clone using Wood Firmware and the 'launcher' just changes something related to the DS Firmware (probably username or message to name a couple of strings, thats why shutting down the console or entering DS mode voids the "hack" as the 3DS reloads the DS firmware data when loading the emulator or power on the console...). The exploit is easily reversible with IDAPro and some DS tools + it doesnt work for anything 4.5+. A clone or probably a hack for any other flashcard (yeah DSTwo, I'm staring at you) is also possible, so I'll better wait.

If it is reversed successfully, is it possible we don't even need that red card, just an any DS mode flashcart for installing that hack, and put 3ds games rom file on sdcard of 3DS console?

I doubt that. Even if someone reverses the Gateway3DS patch and makes his/her own patch we would still need a second Flash Card to run the 3DS game, but that could be done with a programmable DS Flash Card (DSTwo for example) (even when It will need a custom Firmware).

No need for a second flashcart. The Gateway 3DS cfw needs a second flashcart in order to make money...

Then how do you expect the 3DS to recognize the games and launch 'em? Just think that the Red Gateway Card acts as a 1:1 copy of a 3DS game. Launching a 1:1 copy from a card that works almost like any 3ds game (the only difference is that the cart has a microSD memory as storage and not a ROM) is way easier than launching a .3ds file that will need some memory patches in order to correctly work (and probably some more work + we cannot run custom code yet, so that would mean no possibility to move the functions that read from the cart to custom ones).

I dont think any chinese companies will end up wanting to copy it since it likely will be patched fast by nintendo and then dead for good. Which isn't a horrible thing but it is for business if you're trying to grab a piece of an already very limited market.

Not really they do it all the time, sell it for 25$ or something people will buy it since they don't want to buy this overpriced crap. Also people who are saying that this is just like the ps3 cfw. Just no.

I got a great idea, release all the info about how your card works and then maybe someone can figure out a way to get into the new firmware! I'm sure cheap knockoffs are already in the works. Make it about the scene and not all about $$$! I would guess if you did this more people would buy your card, me being one of them!

I will also wait for a cheaper clone and if it's not going to happen AND the review is kinda good I might consider buying Gateway. Also the people saying it's a piece of crap just cause it won't work on a firmware higher than 4.5 are either stupid or retarded. I mean there are tons of games that work on 4.5 and just a few that don't, if you really like pokemon so much you'll just have to buy it and this goes for many other games as well. Then there's also a chance it WILL work on higher firmware. The only real negative points about it is the lack of homebrew and of course consoles that can't be downgraded...

When you have total kernel control, you can do anything you want on the device, including modifying its firmware to work the way you want it to work. It is not that hard as you think it is. The problem was and still is to get an exploit to get you kernel access in the first place, the next steps are a piece of cake for a team of talented programmers... Does the PSP have a problem loading roms instead of UMDs? Does it have a problem running custom code? Did the games need patching of any kind? Well, maybe in the beginning, but as hackers became more capable and more accustomed to it, they modyfied it to play everything untouched...

So either the Gateway made their solution in this way to profit, or their hack is not giving them total kernel control and just allows them to use a fake 3DS cart.

I know it is difficult to create a cfw for the 3DS, but that is where all the fun is, and the scene will be better for it in the long term.
