Hello, my gamepad stopped working, doesn't charge or turn on. I sent it to Nintendo repair center, here in Brazil where they found the problem, wireless chip is on short circuit, but they don't have the replacement part, so I'm stuck.

Now, the problem. I found on an auction site a cheap gamepad. But it is an European model, and my wiiu is ntsc. Searching on Web I found that the gamepad is region locked, but is unclear if it applies for everything or just for updates. Is it possible to play games using it? Because I can update my wiiu using a friend's gamepad.

You must use a Wii U GamePad of the same region as your console. It's related to the Wi-Fi circuitry in the GamePad that uses the 5Ghz band and is heavily regulated across different regions. An NTSC Wii U GamePad will be tuned differently than a PAL one. All other accessories are compatible across regions (e.g. Wii U Pro Controller, Wiimotes, Wii Balance Board, etc.)
