Wiiu gamepad region lock

Hi, hope someone is able to help, so I sold my pal wiiu gamepad on eBay, someone from Canada purchased it, he says that the wiiu gamepad is region locked,I didn't know about this till today, my question is, is there any way to unlock or use a pal wiiu gamepad on a USA Wiiu console?

Now with GaryOderNichts's udpih and recovery menu you can pair any out of region gamepad with these methods!
