Is this extended battery out of stock or discontinued? I can't find it on their website and customer support can't find it -_- & no I will not pay over $60 on Amazon or eBay lol

Thanks guys. I'll check back next week to see if they get them in because ~3 hours of gamepad battery blows.

What Bladexdsl said.
They are actually official Nintendo replacement gamepad extended capacity battery packs. Play-Asia seems to have them at a pretty good price, it is also where I ended up getting mine from too.

I don't really consider $35 cheap. This is no more complex then a cell phone battery, so why does it cost 5 times as much? Is it the same voltage as a phone battery? If it is, is there any technical reason preventing someone from rigging up their own? Put in a big phone battery, some filler material, solder a couple wires. Would this work?

does this fit and charge in the cradle ?

Unfortunately scummbag Nintendo made the battery cradle bigger then the actual battery that comes with the Gamepad. It's like having a remote control that has room for 2 AA batteries and you get 2 AAA batteries in the package. The battery on the other hand works perfect!

I would recommend the Uboost to anyone looking for a cheap alternative.
http://www.amazon.com/Uboost-Wii-U-...ie=UTF8&qid=1402753252&sr=1-1&keywords=uboost

Pros:
- Gives an extra 4 hours of game time (approximate from my usage)
- It has a kickstand
- You can still charge the gamepad in the cradle with the uboost on
- Easy to put on and off (although I just leave mine on)

Cons:
- Adds a bit of weight to the gamepad (it's really easy to get used to though)
- Stand is a little tough to adjust
