In a surprisingly stealthy move, Square Enix has decided to port the HD Remastered version of Final Fantasy X/X-2 to PC via Steam. The official release date is just a few days away, on May 12th.

The remaster showed up on consoles back on December 26th, 2013 and it seems PC gamers will finally get the chance to play the game in all its glory. This is just the latest in a series of Square Enix games being ported to PC. Could it be that someday PC gamers will have the entire backlog of Square Enix games at their disposal? Could they work out their licensing issues and port Kingdom Hearts over? Only time (and lots of hype) will tell.

While it may not be a problem for you, it is a problem for other people.
Some even prefer framerates above 60fps (120, 144, or in my case, 76hz since that's the highest my monitor can overclock to)
60fps looks much smoother, and feels much more responsive than 30fps.

If it has a 30fps cap that would mean the developers are too lazy to make a proper port, regardless of whether or not you care about the framerate.

I don't even consider the fact that they brought over 5 and 6, they just ported their shitty mobile versions instead of actually utilizing the abilities of a computer to render 3D models.

Sakagushi was executive producer of X as well as XI. He left afterwards, but I believe he also gave some support to XII.

Yup, the same dude who fixed Tales of Symphonia (which was an absolutely horrid PC port), released an altered .ini file pretty much, that tells the game to use Japanese audio with English subtitles. The funny part is, Square Enix had a PR letter explaining that they couldn't do that because of "technical difficulties". So if a modder can change something with hex editing in less than an hour, that's something SE can't fix?

I keep getting a crash during the first cutscene when starting the game. I tried looking it up but didn't find much other then some person who has a patch, but wants a sketchy survey to download it. Anyone else having this problem? My specs are easily good enough for the game.

Hmm, I actually played FF7, FF8, and FF12 but not 9, 10, and 11. I might download this while I wait for the FF7 remake.
