Good god, I'd hope not. lol There's games that actually deserve to be translated yet to be released in the USA. I'm sure the demand for a game such as that on our shores is limited to a very small age group I won't besmirch by naming.

Just like Kalker said, it's not what you think it is. I frown on that style of game, and yet I've only found a pretty decent dungeon crawler game with really fun character creation not completely unlike Ore no Shikabane wo Koete Yuke (Which would also make a reaaaally awesome translation project with the sequel on its way!).

Both games could find a new audience in English.

While Conception is in no way eroge or NSFW, it still has "sexualized" dialogue and permise. The dating sim and romance parts can get obnoxious and cringeworthy for people not really into that sort of thing. I mean... "Thank you for your blessing to make children with your sister"

Anyone really liking the gameplay and the idea but his tastes keep him from bearing the plot could instead go for Oreshika 1 (PSP remake, originally PS1, JP-only) or Oreshika 2 (the one getting localized for the Vita) since it's a take on the same idea that has dramatic/serious/artsy presentation with a focus first and foremost on gameplay...

But it's not very import friendly. Then again, strong will can keep you going, even with stuff like Tengai Makyou Manjimaru.

lol Yes, I'm quite aware of the game, and the fact that's it's not an eroge. I would not have made a comment about it based on the name alone, if I knew nothing about the game. It's still a niche game full of sexual innuendo to keep it going. Fan service, and nothing more. Kinda like High School of the Dead. It may not have had tits or sex scenes, but that doesn't keep it from being an anime that overly uses sexual innuendo and perverse imagery to hold an audience.

Berwick Saga (PS2)

G5.jpg

Who likes the Fire Emblem series? It's probably fair to say that Fire Emblem is one of the standard bearers among tactical RPGs. As for Berwick Saga, it's not officially part of the Fire Emblem series, but it's notable because the original game designer of Fire Emblem left to form his own company after his final SNES title. And the result? An evolution of Fire Emblem that started with Tear Ring Saga, and pushed even further with Berwick Saga.

So how good is Berwick Saga? Well, consider this:

Fire Emblem: Awakening has a 92.52% average review score over at Gamerankings.com. Berwick Saga is generally thought of as the pinnacle of the Fire Emblem universe, with even deeper gameplay than the oft-spoken Final Fantasy Tactics. It's easily one of the greatest tactical games never translated to English and quite easily the best untranslated tactical RPG. It's also accessible to anyone with a PS2 or modern PC, since it plays fine via PCSX2.

The below preview video doesn't go much into game play, but is notable because of the video quality, which shows the game off rather nicely:

I second this - heard a lot of good things about the game, I'd love to be able to play it in English

Hey guys :). Some may remember me and I had no time at all to follow the project entirely, but I am a big supporter anyways and I want to thank the team around Sky, that made this possible :). What I saw recently (The teaser ofc) looks really awesome and I am so happy, that the project will come to a close soon (I will cry, man, I will!!).
Iam thankful to all people involved in this project. You will have brought us an awesome game, that the US and EU couldn't have played without you :). Thx alot :)

P.S.: I am happy for you, that your new Blog is now up, I'll follow you around for interesting posts ;)

Have a nice day, my comrades :)

If there is going to be a poll for the next project then perhaps Grand Knights History could be included.

I was recently reminded about the unfortunate circumstances surrounding Grand Knights History. To my knowledge, a partial English translation of the game was being worked on by an individual, who immediately stopped with the translation, when Xseed officially announced that they were going to be translating the game with a planned release in North America. However, time went by without much updates pertaining the the game when eventually Xseed announced that Grand Knights History was not going to be released in English since Vanillaware (the developer) did not have the resources to integrate/code the translation that Xseed had already finished and that they have moved onto other projects (Dragon's Crown most likely).

In conclusion, the game many once came to know as Grand Knights History, was going to be left behind in the abyss and forever remain as history...

Grand Knights Historia has almost the same problem as Titanfall and to a lesser extent Dragon Quest X. Its single player content is anemic, and it needs connecting to servers which were made accessible mainly for Japan-only IPs anyways.
Not to mention that the servers for it would be closed permanently really soon like every other online-only game on an old console. I hope there's some way to possibly rip the data on the server's side and rescue it somehow..

Is the multiplayer content accessible via Adhoc as well?
You could use Pro Online if it is.

Anyone want to make a new thread with all the suggestions so far?

Actually, it would make for a nice thread.
Kind of like the NDS section where there's a thread with list of requests *and* a list of already translated games.
It would be less cluttering too.

As far as I know, the servers are already closed. :( It was an OK game, but yes, the multiplayer was the focus.

Well that's quite unfortunate. I wasn't aware of how dependent the "single player" campaign was to connecting to servers in order to progress through the game.

Were it not for the unplayable multiplayer content, GKH would probably be on my short list of PSP games I'd most like to see translated.

Lord of Arcana is mediocre and Lord of Apocalypse, while improved in many ways, isn't in Dissidia's class whatsoever. They play like a poor man's Monster Hunter.
They tried to use the MH copy tactic to introduce the Lord of Vermilion series to the Western hemisphere and failed miserably much to my dismay since I love Lord of Vermilion. MH just has so much more depth then Lord of Arcana/Apocalypse ever did. They can both be ripe with tedium however due to their repetitive nature.

I personally think Dissidia in itself at it's core is a mediocre rock paper scissors fighting game but I'll keep my pessimism to myself. ExDeath is pretty boss though. Best character to use for sure. Master ExDeath and you master the game. To use him effectively you must know how every move of every character works. Pretty sure lag in PvP kills him though. Never got a chance to try PvP myself since Square didn't know how to implement infrastructure modes into the game.

---------------

I'm fine with any translation you want to go for, if you need a terrible PR guy I could fill in otherwise it would be better for me to not get involved since I am not a programmer nor do I know any Japanese outside of GIRUGAMESSHU and maybe a hello and goodbye.

Hey jamrules, the guy translating sol trigger, has been having trouble with the font sizing for a long time.
Sky, might you be able to give him some tips on fixing the problem since your good at rom-hacking.
I excited that your team is doing well in the FF Type zero translation, though I just hope I can play sol trigger as well.
This just a beckon for help. If you don't have the time it's ok.
