Doesn't look half bad. How does it play, though?
It's not bad. As I said someone has tried to actually make playable game, instead of mediocre shovelware which is more commonly seen on the DS. It's not gonna win any awards though.
Each stage is explained with a little comic book-style animation. You start with a tutorial on putting out fires. The camera is just behind the character but when you reach the fire it goes into first-person view. The flames have a energy bar which decreases as you hose it down. Every so often your have to follow a dot around a circle which helps put out the fire. Then you go on a mission to put out a fire in a home.
Then it's extendible ladder training, followed by a mission to save a cat.
Then axe training, where you have to hit dots as they appear on screen, to break down doors. This is again followed by a mission which combines the axe and fire-extinguishing. There is also breathing apparatus training.
The missions begin with a drive to the emergency, which combine button controls and stylus, and the missions are timed. After completing a mission there is a chance to unlock a new uniform or vehicle, and you also get an important lesson about fire safety thrown in for free.
As I said before, great for kids of 5-10 but 30 year old kids will only play this in small doses, and won't find it at all challenging.
