I am anticipating the scenario of something like 3DS Freeshop for Wii U. So with that, on its release we just back up the saves to an USB/ SD card, then format HDD and redownload the games directly on the Wii U; or back up the disc with a proper back up Wii U homebrew tool (would be ideal due to better speed). This would take time but worth it.Ah, that makes sense then.
If you're buying in anticipation of an IOSU-enabled loadiine then you'd in theory be able to store loadiine games on a USB partition
In that case I'd say get the 4TB drive... you'd at least be able to use half of it with the Brazilian method...
The downside is that you'd probably have to re-format it to use it when a usb-enabled backup loader comes out...
I mostly buy physical disc except digital exclusive for my nephews. They're cheaper on sale and worth it in case Nintendo take down the game from their server in the future. Thing is as I explained, I want to keep the discs safe and so need the benefit of back up loader.
