Do retail games work?
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow works perfectly apart from lag during scene transition/pause screen opening, and the unbearable lag during the FMV opening but viewing that is entirely optional so that's fine!

So guys,

I re-installed both CIAS from OP QR, i upgraded both nds loaders Official and Un-official.

I boot twl and start MKDS and i only get the DSI welcome screen, then it's a White screen..

I'm not using a flash card.

Some users keep updating it ;)

Go to TWLoader settings, switch to NTR settings and change bootstrap release to unofficial or vice versa at least one time :)

No, after exiting settings pressing B settings are saved. Can you press X / Y on Settings again to re-download bootstrap again? Also do you have any slot-1 card in the slot?
Remeber to turn off ARM9 Lock and turn on WRAM boost :)

re-download of bootstrap ok.
VRAM boos on
ARM9 off

Now it works :D

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I have no sound, normal?

Alright, I'm pretty new to the scene but I think i followed everything correctly.

Having the same problem as him, also tried every single setting.
Updated official and non-official bootstraps, tried to launch the games in both forms.
Tried both the NTR/TWL speeds.
Tried VRAM boost both on and off.
Tried Console output on both on and off.
Tried to lock arm9 both on and off.
Changed the boost in luma to none, clock, l2, clock+l2, these arent working

Tried these in a lot of combinations with each other but it keeps white screening after the warning health logo is going away. I can see my games I've put into rom\nds\.

TWloader 3.3.1
official bootstrap 0.4
un-official bootstrap 16459a2

cfw 11.2.0.35E

I've tried to create a log.txt file in _nds\twloader\ to see if it would keep the logs but it doesn't seem to save any in it. Any tips on how to get this working?

What is the game you're trying to run?

So I finally tried this and I am impressed! The frontend is very snappy and well-designed. None of my games run yet, but hey! I'm patient. Good job devs!
What are your games?
Any pok game, Plat, B&W and v2, Hgold, Ssilver.
There's the problem. They don't work yet.

That's great....

Been busy for a while with it, testing everything before bothering you guys. X_X

Oh well, have plenty to play since I've just gotten the n3ds, just wanted to get everything ready for later on and the DS was the last thing that wasn't working.

Thanks for the heads-up then. :)

EDIT: Ah, now I see your comp list from what was available in your signature.

Ok, I'm not able to understand the topic properly
So, there isn't any way to use that memory?

Cant we use the zerofilled area in mode 0 and 1?
AFAIK they're basically hardwired to 0 in DS compatibility mode. Writes are discarded, and reads always return 0.

That's sad...even one Mbyte can be usefull...If at least one mirror may be disabled...but this means hack and rewrite the TWL firm, which is not feasible, correct?

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
