I love the F-Zero GX banner sound!
That's one of my favorite GCN games.

I took a moment to download custom banners for all the GCN games I have through USB Loader's GX banner download feature, and notice two things you might be interested to know:
1. the sound for Wario World (GWWE01) and Soul Calibur II (GRSEAF) are swapped
2. this might be on purpose but the sound for Eternal Darkness does not seem related to the game at all but is rather rock/funk/rap fusion type of song

I took a moment to download custom banners for all the GCN games I have through USB Loader's GX banner download feature, and notice two things you might be interested to know:

I'll look into extracting the background music that plays at the game selection screen, after the intro.

Actually, the sequence lasts 30 seconds. I wonder if you were listening to the bit I meant to show you.
It goes from the game start screen to the x-ray image of the character, and then loops.
I can probably extract that with GCTools and make an mp3 of it and let you decide if it is a god fit.

Ok. I will take a second look and see what I can do
Currently I'm making a backup of the banner to have an alternate URL
It'll be http://www.fileden.com/files/2012/8/17/3337854/IDX.bnr
where x=3 or 6
the current URL is http://www.fileden.com/files/2012/5/12/3303540/IDX.bnr


So all we have to do is add this line to USBL-GX 1201+ in "GXGlobal.cfg"
CustomBannersURL = http://fileden.com/files/2012/8/17/3337854/

@cyan can we please have more than 1 line in future releases for alternate sites:
i.e.
CustomBannersURL1 = xyz.com
CustomBannersURL2 = zyx.net
CustomBannersURL3... and so on

Hmm. So if you have more than one url for banners in UGX, how would you select which one to download?

I don't understand why you need a second URL to put ID6 and ID3 together.
You can already upload ID6 on the same URL.
GX is trying ID6 before ID3, if ID6 is not found, it will download ID3.
And in all cases, the file written to SD or USB is given an ID6 filename.

The custom URL in the config is more for users who want to use their own servers instead of yours, than allowing multiple URLs to backup if the first one didn't work.

If first one works the job is done
but yes I mean if the first one fails then second one is checked.
This way if someone wants to have preference for a server he can add it to first URL while being able to use another server if a banner is missing

However, I think this one matches the theme very well and it is indeed extracted from the game.
I gave you the whole bit but you trim to shorten it.


With foobar and the vgmstream component, I'm able to extract a great deal of audio files from many GCN games.
Unfortunately, GCN used a variety of sound formats in the games and not all of them are supported.
There is a whole folder of file sin ED that I can play and the intro song is not in there but there are many more.

Please let me know if you think that song works.

A is the old song, B is mine - no loop, C is yours with loops
I've added C to main server and B to alternate server
