so wiibrew is down and i figured id bring my questions here
i want to output data from an arduino that looks like classic controller control data
i know what i have read from wiibrew in the past but does anyone know if this is feasible?

the one inconsistency i have seen so far is that most modern controllers use 8bits for a single joystick axis but the CC uses 5bits, minor inconvenience
other than that i really dont know what the wii remote does as far as handshaking when the controller is plugged in or how it polls the controller for data

thanks in advance

All I can say is that I checked wiibrew and it is up again.

So, you might grab the information you need. I also noticed that some examples already exist.

From 8 bit to 5 bit can be done by simply dropping the last 3 lsb bits. It might help if you could
provide more details upon what you are trying to do. An arcade style controller board maybe?
