For the color issue, you need a full RGB scart cable. Don't use a
RCA to scart adapter.
Composite is blurry (one cable for 3 colors) and render in black and white with NTSC games. Sometime it can even be flickering in green/pale lines.
The picture is cleaner with RGB cable (1 cable per color). It's like component quality but for 480i.
If you can, look at the pin numbers, If it's a
scart with only 10 pins, don't buy it. if it a scart cable with all 21 pins you have a chance that they are all connected and used.
attention, it can have 21 pins but RGB are not wired, and it's still be a crappy composite output.

official cable, I don't remember if it's a good one.
