I'm trying to find a way to get action replay codes to work with my slot two carts. I have an EZFlash IV, and can run it in NDS mode with my R4. I don't have high hopes for that though, it's mostly just there to connect to the gamecube.

I also have a 3in1, and my hopes are a little higher for cheating. Again with the R4, what software do I need to use cheats for GBA roms? Is it even possible with the hardware I have?

And with the 3in1, is there a guide for setting up the screen borders for gba games? The black border doesn't bother me, but it'd be nice to change it.

The EZ4 does technically have cheat support but it is very fiddly/annoying. Both it and the 3 in 1 are usually better served by GBAATM

It is not flawless by any means but it is definitely worth a go, also make sure to check out http://gba.dellicious.de/gbatrainer/ (a list of most GBA trainers, the missing ones are typically just trainers a group made for giggles -- things like postman pat)

Borders, there was some custom stuff. Most people usually leave it to the cart/software they launch it from to handle, I am not sure what exists for the R4/wood, AKAIO has some stuff and http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/GBA_Frames has some more.

So the trainer stuff is all PC side? That's a bummer, I was hoping to be able to turn cheats on and off on the fly, when not at home. Thanks for the links though, that's still a step in the right direction. If all else fails I can use that, and just change out when I'm at a computer.

Making/applying is on the PC, for the GBAATM stuff you can set it to have enable/disable in game, for a trainer to be called a scene trainer most would argue it has to be a selectable option at the start so the others (which are scene style trainers) should have the option to change at the game's boot time.
Even if you were forced though there is nothing stopping you from having two games named the same in different directories and having things work that way.
