So I just installed this, and it's working fine, but just in case I want to uninstall it, how would I do that? The app says "DONT TOUCH ME," but does that mean I can't even boot it, or does it just mean not to uninstall it?

You uninstall it the same way you installed it. This time instead of pushing the button to install you press the button to uninstall. The menu will tell you which button does what if you read it.

all cbhc does when set to autoboot system menu is do the iosu exploit and do its patches, then boot the system menu, it only needs to do kernel exploit when launching things like hbl or mocha which isnt suggested as default setting anyways. Why would you need to do kernel exploit anyways?

Internet has crapped out again. It works fine without cbhc...any ideas on what could be the issue?

Ok so a bit more testing...using an alt dns fails no matter what. Using auto dns works fine. What the hell could be the problem???

wupinstaller y mod was failing to load with an MCP error. i was using an older version which worked fine with the kernel exploit from web browser. once updated, worked fine but i figured if i used the old process it would work - it didn't and for some reason it borked the internet connection.

i'm thinking the kernel exploit is what caused the issue, but only after haxchi is loaded first. but idk, all i know now is that my internet works again and cbhc working fine.
Try wupinstaller gx2, channel or HBL version .

Nobody knows until Nintendo releases a new update.
IF they release one, judging by the switch presentation they treat it like it never happened so I have high doubts they are going to do anything with it once BotW comes out
Oh yeah 5.5.1's birthday was 3 days ago [emoji122]

it doesnt matter - after more testing it says it connects fine in the settings but then when i go to either youtube, website or a game to play online, it fails to connect.

CBHC affects the network settings somehow - if its not installed, internet works 100% perfect with alt DNS or not. if CBHC is installed, my network works initially but then slowly becomes unavailable.

not sure why/how technically speaking, but that is what is going on. every other device connects just fine to this router.

You are the only one to post having these issues. I think it's all the kernel exploits you were trying to run at the same time.

cbhc doesnt patch anything network related so you probably just have some weird issues with dns being down or other related internet issues.

Yet the internet works fine without cbhc and on like 5 other devices. With or without dns auto obtain this happens. If I uninstall cbhc it will work again.

Mocha exhibits the same issue when launched from chic.

Not complaining just saying this is happening. Its not the internet it's something with haxchi when autobooting.

well, since cbhc doesnt touch the network part of iosu and iosu is always loaded and not reloaded and nobody else has this problem then it probably is an issue specifically with your router being incredibly unlucky on wiiu loadup or something.

Sorry for asking but I want to verify I'm correct on updating chbc. All I do is cancel autoboot and install updated version then enable autoboot correct?

so PSA - don't launch the kernel exploit when in haxchi mode.

my internet on my wii u is pretty much dead now regardless of how i boot or what im doing. its at the point where the error that it throws says the wireless access point can't be found - which is absurd as it finds it just fine in system settings and i have 2 wireless networks working absolutely perfect for every other device that i connect (which is close to 10-12 devices at any given time, if not more if me and the kids are playing online).

no matter what i do the internet eventually fails out. ive tried:

removing CBHC
reinstalling CBHC (1.6)
ive tried reinstalling haxchi (after removing CBHC)
launching without any hax
deleting any connections in system settings and re-adding (Default settings)
deleting any connections in system settings and re-adding (changed DNS settings)
mocha CFW

sorry if this doesn't seem CBHC related, but this is what started this downhill process - again, i'm not claiming CBHC caused this, but this is the chain of events that lead up to this happening.

last thing im going to try is to connecting to a wifi hotspot on my phone just to rule out my routers again for the 4th time.

oh - and i have another wii u which is working just fine on CBHC, i installed both this morning. the only difference is that i launched the fucking kernel exploit while in CBHC mode. last resort will be a system format, but im doubting that will help and ill likely end up back here just with nothing installed.

im frustrated :(

edit: glimpse of hope, i reset the internet browser settings. its downloading an update now. splatoon still won't connect and play.

it has nothing to do with a "kernel exploit"; every time anyone executes the homebrew launcher channel or uses any form of homebrew program the kernel exploit is used and it has been used for a long time now and is separate to the IOSU one; your wifi chip is probably dying from the sounds of it since the IOSU firmware is a static, not changing file so it at this point probably is a hardware issue more than anything else. Oh also, the PPC kernel does not even have access to the drivers or the system files related to anything wifi so yea.

oh and since you now consider a system format I hope you've read this from the first post:
  • Do NOT do a system format while CBHC is installed and autoboots your system or you will brick because you delete CBHC in the process
Just make sure to uninstall it before you even do something like that though I very highly doubt it will help you at all since something starting to fail wont be fixed by re-arranging your nand chip data.

@Xdqwerty, Yeah, I'd recommend having another OS just in-case you want to play games.

At least Linux doesn't contain spyware than what Windows has.

    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

I recall @impeeza mentioned some trick about not having bloatware when installing windows where you set up your country to "world" or smh like that

Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

I also recall my brother downloded a "non bloated" version of windows 11 on his pc

@Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.

OK no problem the issue is he would download DBZ movies and they where amazing usually like 2-8KB in size lol can't remember how many times I had to format and reinstall windows over his stupidity. I even explained to him about file sizes multiple times...
