Hardware Can sd2vita work like a regular ps vita memory card out of the box without any homebrew crap?

Update to 3.70, install Trinity > Modoru downgrade to 3.60, install Henkaku > Enso
...definitely an easier process than getting H-encore working on a PSTV.
if you have trouble with a usb cable, try toggling smb 1.0 on/off. it's off by default with windows 10. you need smb 1.0 with micro sd manager on the 3ds and windows explorer for the 360 and possibly ps3. the systems are just too old. the vita connection will work with smb 1.0 off, but when I was testing it, it ceased working immediately after enabling smb 1.0. disabling it didn't fix it for some reason, so I had to reflash a disk image after that test. I too had major trouble with it, but not really anymore.

the cma id is taken from the system.dreg in vd0. it's tied to the account id, but I don't really know how, 'cause my account id wasn't in the system.dreg. changing the cma id in the system.dreg will force you to reformat the memory card. it may be due to the id.dat (on the memory card), which contains your account id. qcma will make the correct folder, but changing the cma id will force a format at next boot. I was never able to connect to qcma without an account. if it's like the ps3, the account id will be all 0s if you've never signed into psn. it stands to reason that the cma id would also be all 0s or for it to simply not work. there's very little information about this procedure on vitadevwiki.
add device
Update: Everything's done! Yay! I have finished following the https://vita.hacks.guide/finalizing-setup guide and I have everything set up now. Now I need two things: get my sd2vita/usb storage to work as a memory card, and get pkgj (or some kinda other free shop) Cloud you tell me how to do that?
Edit: nvm I found pkgj on the homebrew browser and configured sotragemgr myself, now I can finally play p4 golden. Thank you all for help, you're amazing :)

you should downgrade to 3.60 and get enso so you dont have to rely on an app to launch your hacks and be able to play pirated games on boot.

Done, I've been following guide for 3.70 and it told me to install enso so I did :D

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

There should be links on https://vita.hacks.guide/ to get you the apps (vpk's) and plugins (skprx/suprx) you need, and directions for how to add them.

https://vita.hacks.guide/storagemgr - for sd2vita config
https://vita.hacks.guide/adrenaline - for Adrenaline (PSP emu) set-up... because you'll no doubt want Persona 1-3 too ;)
https://vita.hacks.guide/finalizing-setup - for most other important apps
https://github.com/theheroGAC/Autoplugin/releases - for autoplugin
I alerady wrote in the edit that I got sd2vita and finalization checked, now I need psp emu and autoplugin

enso only works on 3.60/3.65 so you have to downgrade

Definitely install the LOLIcon plugin to overclock your PSTV - all Vita's are dramatically underclocked to improve on battery life... obviously not a worry on PSTV ^_^
Also, make sure you utilise some form of whitelister to allow the PSTV to run the titles that are ordinarily blocked from being run on it (anything that used front/rear touch, motion controls, etc)

Yeah, the best solution for versions above 3.60 is to just update to 3.70 and follow this https://vita.hacks.guide/preparing-for-trinity guide to the end (that was for anyone in need of help viewing this thread)

Interesting name of package, I'll check it out. I'm playing persona 4 atm and everything's working just fine. Just when I tried to download hyperdimenison neptunia rebirth 1 from the pkgj it shows some kinda error when I try to download the patch, oh well back to playing p4

NPS is faster but requires some setup, its a lot faster to transfer because you have sd2vita

I'm using an usb drive as my storage actually. sd2vita didn't quite work for me. I tried to look for some answers for the pkgj error around the internet but I found nothing, the "solutions" i found were things that I alerady done

Woah, NPS actually works way better than pkgj. There should be a folder for a patches but pkgj didn't even bother to create it and I cloudn't even finish installing the game. I hope that the nps version will work now.

you can just put the game in the app folder and refresh and tap on the game, it should show an orange circle button at the top and you click on it and it will download the update

I just did that + installed the patch and put the dlcs and hyperdimension neptunia works! (I just had to get antiblacklist to run it because it's pstv)

I have a question, will adrenaline run the psp games from no pay station?

yeah, it will also run psp homebrew
i don't want to get too complicated but having adrenaline is like having a psp with cfw on your vita, a two in one basically.
any psp game/mod/homebrew/translation will work. you can even use plugins for psp in adrenaline for things like cheats, themes, and translations
