this is a UPS https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uninterruptible_power_supplyHow the fuck is UPS responsible for short circuited equipment? Unless you can prove it was delivered that way.

I still have to see a FedEx where I can plug my equipment.Yeah. While were on the subject I'll blame FedEx for my expired milk because I left it out on my counter.

It is a probable cause.Wondering what some of you that are more technical think about the fact that all 3 Xbox one, Wii U and Wii U were on the same HDMI port with a HDMI extender and they're the only ones effected along with the TV? Hard for me to believe that's a coindence.
Well, sorry mate. I have my Consoles and computer(s) hooked up to a Power Strip, which has a ground. So, my stuff is safe. Just make sure to use a strip with a ground on it, or else that might happen again.
Also, do you have warranties on those things, or no?
It seems like all modern power strips have surge protections built into them. If it was any made within the last 5 years you are likely to be safe.
Even if the strips themselves already cover you? That seems excessive. The grounded power strip with surge protection is important.
But still, it is a very good idea to disconnect your expensive electronics during an thunderstorm.
Yes, they don't cover you. They try their best.Even if the strips themselves already cover you? That seems excessive.

yep, sorry to read someone else is having a power surge issue too.I think all of it was related to HDMI connections.
Were they plugged into a surge protector?
Thats not entirely true, at Staples we offer both (at least at the store i work at, i always make it a point to my customers that they shoukd go for the ones with surge protection). Power strips alone only provide extra outlets, if you need extra outlets, it makes sense to spend a couple extra bucks to protect your stuff too.It seems like all modern power strips have surge protections built into them. you mean you don't give a fuck about a bomb going off (well, something sounding like a bomb going off)?I hear a BOOM, like a bomb went off. Scared the sh*t outta me. Didn't think much of it
