Hardware Assistance Needed Concerning New 3DS XL "Black" Color...

Ok guys, I am looking to finally get ready and purchase a new 3ds xl in black (nevermind the paranoia of the IPS screen potential, if it doesn't have one, I'll buy top/bottom and install them) but I've seemed to notice that there are various 'shades' of "black" colors when viewing online....I'd really like to know what color the black version (US/NTSC) is because as far as I'm concerned the metallic black is perfect but its Japanese only.

Example:

Now that is the color I want, a sort of "graphite/charcoal grey" and not a solid black. I've seen a few images where the new 3ds xl seems like a solid black which I do not want. Does anyone own this model and can clarify for me that it has the greyish hue or tone? Please and thanks for any assistance in this matter.

I have this shade, I think it's the same, but looks darker in the image. I just purchased it at a target, about 3 weeks ago. This is a picture of the box with the model number. The only other notable thing it says is "New Black" on the side.

I don't think there are multiple versions of the black n3DS XL, the differences you are seeing is just due to different cameras.

Metallic black isn't JPN-exclusive anyway. My (EUR) N3DSXL is metallic black.

That's a PSP nub, it requires pulling off the rubber nub then you just stick the PSP nub on (doesn't require opening the console)
