I have been reading a lot on this topic, so I was wondering if anyone could help with mine?

What I have done so far:

Ninjhax as entry point for homebrew
sysnand was 10.2 New 3dsXL
Ran Sysupdater with the downgrade zip pack for n3ds_U
Sysupdater installed all the .cia files
Came back to a blank screen after 10 mins or so.
Restarted the 3ds... nothing but a black screen,
-Tried to delete the "Nintendo3ds" folder off the micro SD
-reformatted the sd card, put all the files back on to it with "nintendo3ds" folder and again without
-tried a different micro sd card with the same folders...
-renamed sysupdater.3dsx to boot.3dsx
-Started the 3dsxl with out a microSD card, and then added it
EDIT:
-Tried L+R+A+UP
-Start up only blue light... screen isn't on

Nothing has worked so far, read a lot of people have tried multiple times and got it to work.
Just wondering if I am doing something wrong or if I have totally bricked the system.
Attached is what my root of the microSD card looks like with everything on it.
Anyone that successfully got theirs to boot up with the same problem?

Guides I used:

Honestly it seems like a brick to me... did you flash different console version files? like E on a U console or something? Also... the screens turn on? I mean the back-light? Or they just stay off?

Just to be clear, when you removed your SD card, does your 3DS boot?
No it doesn't boot

I downloaded the 3dsU zip file. Can I still send it back to nintendo if thats the case? Bought it about 9 months ago

Oh snap.

If it doesn't even boot, then perhaps you should boot into recovery.

It is almost certain that you need to upgrade this 3DS in order to get it unbricked.

My advise is to upgrade to fix it, sell it, and buy one that is 10.3 or below.

Also, I stand to be corrected ><

Sounds like a brick then. Did you try to boot into recovery mode? Hold A+L+R+Up as it is turning on. Might be able to save it, but you'll have to update to 10.6

Just as @Queno138 said... if you can enter recovery mode and update to fix it... sell it and buy a new one with 10.3 or lower... or you can try to hardmod it xD

Also.... you downloaded a zip file... just to be sure... there are NEW 3DS files and OLD 3DS files and they are different you can't mix them... do you own a NEW 3DS right? Did you download the NEW or OLD 3DS files? Because if you downloaded the OLD ones... that's the problem then

Do I need to remove the SD card to go into recovery mode? I've tried the L+R+A+Up for a few mins and still nothing.

first try to boot without the microsd Card, if it's still black or white then it's bricked.
Guess its bricked...
Well I added myself to the bricked thread...
Off topic question: I got two more o3ds's firmware 9.6.0-24u and 8.0
Can I do any kinds of emuNAND hacks with these with out having to upgrade/downgrade to 9.2?

Just the 8.0 one I think rxTools run but from 8.1 xD you can try it but I would recommend upgrading to 9.2 since it's the "standard".

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:

still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
