So what about Devin?
Their name isn't trustworthy anymore... I wouldn't count on it that it is actually the blame on clones or "debunked"...
So what about Devin?
Well, they didn't say ALL brick reports have been debunked. Then again they do still seem to be trying to give the impression that it's completely impossible to brick. So what about Devin?
I replied to you already. You did not receive my email? I will paste it below.
It could be because you had a dev unit, and a particular one since we had to
resend it, because the first parcel, someone took the red card inside. That's
the only thing we can think of. You D/Lded the firmware from our site link
right? And yes, don't worry, we will fix your unit. send bill for shipping back
and a paypal address, we will refund return cost. It is good because although it
is most likely due to the dev unit, we will analyze everything to see what
happen, and make a report, as you would be the first real bricking of Gateway,
since all others we saw right away it was clone or normatt modified launcher.
And in fact, depending on what we find, the fact the dev unit provoked it might
help us understand what is happening even more. But we will know all that after
a full scan and study of the console and what's in it.
-------
You would be unlucky, but of course we will fix it. We had like 15 consoles
returned so far, mostly Brazilian and other developing countries where almost
only clones sell. And as expected, every single one was due to another launcher
file. This is why we made it clear in our RMA email (see below) because we don't
want again their problem to cause us wasted time on RMA for nothing, but we know
some people will take their chance. We cant show them how we know, because it
would help those cloners who are wasting our time, but if they knew, they
wouldn't bother as it is pretty obvious when you know and have pretty simple
hardware...
We normally collect them from reseller, but as you received it direct from us, i
ask a forwarder to collect it for us. Write on the box with your 'from' address
'FOR GW team', so they know it is for us, and we will collect it.
Simply return the console, including SD card, gateway card and if possible your
NAND back up to:
You don't think I'd put the address do you?

I wonder if this all to save face because he is well known as a reviewer on this site.
I cant imagine they'll show the same hospitality to a regular customer who has a legitimate brick, they'll probably "debunk" it as a clone user.
You should definitely be the ambassador for legitimate GW bricks, and help others that suffer the fate of a brick by Emailing GW as a referal, so they dont blow the person off.
Either way, Glad to hear your getting it fixed Devin, i hope they actually do refund you the shipping and not somehow "forget" to do it.
Let's hope if any others suffer the same fate, they'll be given the same service in return.
I don't want to be an ambassador for legit bricks for a variety of reasons, uh, yeah, I don't to be honest, trust me..... But yeah, they're really only doing it to save face, their rep is already pretty FUBAR at this point.
Sorry bout that, i was referring to Devin. But honestly no one would want to waste their time and have to go through that because of GW.
If anything, if i were to ever get a brick, i would definitely quote Devin's email and let them know i expect the same respect.

1. There is no bricking, Devin case is maybe just is console being dead, we are
waiting on it to see. Also Devin had a dev unit (samples, before production).
Bricking is an issue with clones, ask clones for support: there is none, they
don't care about their customers, we do.
2. It never happened, so why again.
3. We are doing our best, but the crap with cloners made us lose time,
particularly the code by Normatt (the clone main coder, making a lot of money
copying our code) who can brick people with Gateway who installed it.
But all seems more or less solved now, so we are moving forward to 2.0 now, and
more to come after.
Ohhh, that is just great, so they are telling us that their official partner resellers aren't trustworthy? just because they're from a third world country?
Im just glad i have bought my gateway from an US Gateway reseller, and if i got bricked at least they can't blame me for my country
I found a strange happening on my 3DS' SD card. The .sav files and launcher.dat file timestamps are perfectly fine but for some reason the "Nintendo 3DS" folder is dated 8/28/2016. Which is weird because the previous backup of the 3DS' SD card I did before I bricked has the correct timestamp of January 5th 2013.
I just thought of something since you are a reviewer is your nintendo 3ds that got bricked the same one that you use to review other cards?
Maybe cause you used other cards instead of just gateway it bricked ?
This is from the official site. Either trust Gateway 100% or don't trust them at all.Switching to Gateway
20/01/2014
We are receiving many emails from worried customers switching from unstable Gateway clones (mainly 3DS Link/ R4i Gold 3DS/MT Card) to an original Gateway card. Worries about the possible bricking of their console because of their past use of a clone.
In fact, you do not need to worry as long as you have the proper Launcher.dat on your SD card.
Just please make sure you download the latest release bundle (today Beta 2.0b2) from our web site, and copy the official Launcher.dat to your 3DS SD, to confirm you are using the correct file, enter into the GW menu and you should see Our Gateway banner on the top screen as well as GW beta 2.0b2 on the top of the bottom screen.
Just reinstalling using our blue card is fine. If you would like to, you can format the console first, and then re-install, but this is not necessary.
ENJOY
