Hardware 3DS XL-Is there going to be a black model in NA or not?

Just wondering because all of the announcements that I have read on the XL said it would release in all black as well as the red/black and blue/black models. But it seems all the stores are only offering preorders for red/black and blue/black.

I'd really like an all black 3DS XL and was pretty excited when I read it was going to be available. Anyone know what's going on? Maybe its just not available for preorder but will be on launch day? Wishful thinking lol.

NA only has the red and blue models announced for now (because they want to appeal to little kid colors i guess...) Im sure possibly around the holidays there will be another color variant (maybe all black) or usually a limited edition color (probably to do with kirby). But for now we really dont know. All depends on what nintendo feels like releasing. But almost all ds variants (ALMOST) have an all black color option so im sure we can expect one to arrive sooner than later.

I wish they did the 3DS XL in pure colour..they didn't do that with the DSi XL. But I guess pure black is a good start >___

As I gather the colours are as follows and vary between regions:

All: Red, Blue

USA: Red, Blue

EU: Red, Blue, Silver

JP: Red, Blue, White

If you want a black 3DS XL, why not follow my thread here which is about me trying to figure out how I can spray the top of a 3DS black and adding the Brotherhood of Steel insignia with 2 cans of Krylon Fusion for Plastic spray paint. Since you are American, it's worth noting that Krylon Fusion is common as mud over there!

Red x Black is worldwide
Silver x Black is only for EU/Aust and Japan
Blue x Black is only for EU/Aust and NA
White is a Japan exclusive (for now)

Silver x Black looks very good IMO.

Actually white 3DS LL is also coming to Hong Kong soon...I wonder if they are going to get their own region too ><

My bad about the colour thing, I probably should have researched it a tad more carefully.

Needless to say I preordered a silver/black and I want to spray it black/black, so the stock colour is irrelevant to me. I am actually more annoyed that Nintendo didn't include a charger in my region, are American chargers cheaper to produce or something? (I know ours have 3 prongs and operate at a higher voltage/current but come on Nintendo!)
