Hey, I hacked my New 2ds with Luma3ds and I want to reset the download play app to normal. How can I do that?

EDIT: Just realised it changes back, sorry!

Hi, I found a rare rom called DSi Demo Video and I assume it's the demo videos that are installed on in store systems for previewing. The strange thing is it is in .dsi format. Is there a way to convert this to cia and would the .dsi format work on a flashcart?

If it is DSiWare latest GodMode9 should offer converting it to .CIA
Maybe rename the file to .nds

Flashcarts don't run DSiWare.
=======

Other possibility: Try running it in No$gba (set up for DSi NAND emulation)

I tried running the .dsi files through Twilight Emulator on the 3ds and they showed up, however once booted in the file's security game up saying this is for DSi system only. Is there a way to trick the file into thinking the system is a DSi?

With so many people asking how to update a 3DS with CFW, and in what order to do it, I was thinking of writing a post that gives the steps. That can save people some time answering the same question over and over. When people still ask about it, users can simply direct them to the post.

However, since I am still a beginner and all these processes definitely are not automatic for me, I was wondering what the order of updates is and how exactly to go about it. In specific, I would love to tackle the things people need to update when they have followed the 3DS Hack Guide (e.g., Luma3DS, LumaUpdater, Homebrew Launcher, Boot9Strap, GodMode9).

If someone could tell me what to update and in what order, I can create a topic with instructions on how to update (e.g., replace a file on the internal SD, update through an app) with links to the latest releases for it if necessary.

Or if anyone feels compelled to, by all means, write the topic yourself. I am sure you have more knowledge about it than I do.

Not much to do here, only linking to the guide:
  • Luma3DS ≤ v7.0.5 A9LH to B9S
  • Luma3DS = v7.1 Updating B9S
  • Luma3DS ≥ v8.0 Replace boot.firm with latest version to prevent the infamous "Failed to apply 1 FIRM patch(es)" error
Both, A9LH→B9S as well as Updating B9S, have a link to the finalizing setup at the end. Updating all of the homebrew apps is a good idea, but this is not mandatory. Why install Anemone if you don't want custom themes?
If only updating boot.firm make at least sure to copy the new file to CTRNAND to allow booting in case of missing, corrupted or bad SD (or even faulty reader)

Update official firmware last.

Is there a homebrew that can show me exactly how much free space I have on my N3DSXL SD Card without the need of checking it on my PC?

What is the correct way to delete a game from the 3DS Homebrew? Some suggested that I could go via the SD-card, but I can't find the game there. So if I delete the game from FBI should delete just the title or title + ticket?

I only delete the game. I'm a newbie so I don't actually know if it's smart for me to delete the ticket as well. My 3DS hasn't exploded yet so I'm not doing anything terrible, I imagine.

Hi, I have a New 3DS XL demo unit and the home button is disabled. I want to install CFW on the system, however I know there are a couple steps in the BannerBomb3 Guide by Sthetix that use the home button (such as when exiting menu after installing bootstrap, and exiting download play app after switching it to homebrew. Are there any ways to do these steps without using home button? [In the case of not, are there any other CFW guides I can follow that will work on a system that has home buttons disabled?]

    @Xdqwerty, Yeah, I'd recommend having another OS just in-case you want to play games.

    At least Linux doesn't contain spyware than what Windows has.

    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

    @SylverReZ,
    I recall @impeeza mentioned some trick about not having bloatware when installing windows where you set up your country to "world" or smh like that

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

    @SylverReZ,
    I also recall my brother downloded a "non bloated" version of windows 11 on his pc

  • impeeza @ impeeza:
    @Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.

OK no problem the issue is he would download DBZ movies and they where amazing usually like 2-8KB in size lol can't remember how many times I had to format and reinstall windows over his stupidity. I even explained to him about file sizes multiple times...
