It's easier if you do but you don't have to.But for the homebrew I have to install CFW, right?
On 11.4 or 11.5 you need to look at https://3ds.guide/homebrew-launcher-(alternatives)Could You please kindly elaborate on the matter? I have only found the guide to apply homebrew on CFW. Other than that there is a guide on how to install "legit" CIAs on 3DS w/o custom firmware and as far as I know only on certian FW.
Yes. But I'm not sure what kind of saves these are or how to import them - they were just on the root of the SD with all the other GW saves. Those are both available on Freeshop. You have CFW. have you downloaded that yet?
Just update normally, or if the game is out of region, you'll have to find the update CIA and install it.I have a game I installed via FBI, it is currently saying that an update is available for said game. Any advice? I mean do I just update the normal method or? (Thanks as always).

I don't think any consoles brand new have 11.4 except the N2DSXL so you don't need to worry.is there a list other then the redit for for serial numbers. i found new 3ds xl with numbers 125X and above.

It's better not to have one, since if you do you may have troubles with your NNID, and you will have to install GBA and DSiWare on both sysNAND and emuNAND for it to work. And it takes up room on your SD card. And your system will crash and your SD card may corrupt if the SD card comes out while the system is on (since the system memory is stored on the SD card with emuNAND). There's no bad thing that can happen where if you have an emuNAND you're safe and just sysNAND you're not. But if you really want to, see https://3ds.guide/godmode9-usage under the format SD card section. Can someone explaine me how I can create an emuNAND on a new 3DS xl with boot9strap and cfw 11.5 (Luma) ? Also how i can seperate sysNAND and emuNAND. I know most people are telling me that there is no need for an emuNAND anymore, but I feel more save to have one.
Thx
It must not have been brand new. That is the first I heard of a brand new system on 11.4.bought one from gamestop and it was on 11.4. one more question.
if i buy a system that has lower firmware does that firmware go on the system that i transfer to?
An emunand is completely pointless with Boot9Strap unless you're using a CFW without firm protection (which Luma has). Can someone explaine me how I can create an emuNAND on a new 3DS xl with boot9strap and cfw 11.5 (Luma) ? Maybe I can get some help. Thanks in advance. Bought a 2ds. Got CFW on it. Then bought a N3ds, got CFW on it, then did a system transfer from 2ds to N3ds. I opted to use card from 2ds for n3ds cause it was bigger. I'm confused about how to get the actual HB launcher etc back on 2ds. I know 2ds is still hacked, but what files do I need to put back on the new memory card etc? Hope that makes sense.
Do what @Majickhat55 said, if anything doesn't come back then follow the relevant part of https://3ds.guide/finalizing-setupMaybe I can get some help. Thanks in advance. Bought a 2ds. Got CFW on it.
