I just got sysUpdater to boot on my spare JPN N3DS for the first time after a whopping 52 tries. Before I begin the downgrade, are there any titles I should delete from the "9.2.0-20J(Full)_n3DS" update package before attempting the downgrade? (I heard @Mrrraou say 000400102002CA00.cia, but I want to make sure that's the only one.)

I was told not to use the ttp files and to be safe you shouldn't either. Plus if you got the ttp files, you already know where to get the unmodified cias.

New 3DS instructions
(won't work for everone)
  1. Download the right n3ds cia files (or extract it from the ttp)
  2. Create a "updates" folder on your root of your sd card
  3. Copy all cia files in there
  4. Install the newest sysupdater homebrew
  5. Use menuhax
  6. Try to open sysupdater and try it as long as it doesn't pass step 8
  7. If it pass Step 8, Downgrade by pressing Button y

@Ptrk25 Did you use the CIA from the ttp or not ? If no can you tell us the exact name of the zip please.

I highly recommend getting TeraCopy and using its built-in option to verify file CRC after transferring.
First two times I copied the update files over, one of them had a CRC mismatch. Who knows what would've happened if I had run sysupdater then.
The third time they all matched, so I proceeded, and now I'm on 9.2.0-20U.

I own a JP n3ds and that CIA is one I heard that you need to remove for this. It's the same for the Private update server for 8.1 to 9xx, so removing that will be fine. However, I'm not attempting this yet on mine until solid proof that it does not brick, as I don't have hard mod.

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
