Aside from the overhead of running a full and unnecessary OS? Android simply isn't optimized for games, and anything based on Android would get overwhelmed by the shittier ports - the Ouya proved this.

Fair enough. I do agree Android ports tend to be underwhelming and the touchscreen controls don't help either.
Ouya isn't a be all and end all representation for Android OS on a console. Not saying anyone should or will do this, but someone can optimize Android for a PS4Pro console if they want to. It wouldn't even have to be the main OS. That way, it could get console games and android games. Also, rather than blocking the Android store outright, they can have a restricted version. They wouldn't even have to bother porting android games, unless it was a special version or some restriction on the android version, that kept it from working.
It's not every day that I read an article here that makes me sit up from when I was sitting in this case it was a rocking chair
Holy shet! I'm loving the design already. I hope this is good. Or might as well be another steambox or something.

The Nvidia Shield is truly an awesome gaming Android console but that isn't cheap per say, at least not for many pockets.

Well i just hope it doesn't turn out to be a next "Panasonic FZ-1 R.E.A.L. 3DO" (or Sanyo/GoldStar/Creative model)
under 100 $ and wants close to modern specs? are you a wizard? lol for under 100$ you cant get anything whoethwhile for cpu/gpu at all, heck this atari thing will probably be just a weak android box with some games ported to it very downgraded like most games look on android ports.

They are very vague on the "Modern Specks" I seriously doubt it will be competing with PS4 and Xbox One. I'm guessing its going to be closer to Switch stats if that.

On the other hand consoles like original xbox exist. It was a success, even if not in sales, it put microsoft into the gaming industry. Then the 360 was very succesful by all means, and now it is one of the market leaders. Even if atari will just show us it can do something- the next gen can be a success
Idk, just fix the aspect ratio and of course keep the amazing soundtrack. My favorite songs are
"Gameplay", and of course, "When Elliot steals all your Reese's and you get angry but can't express it other than trying to chase the jerk just to fall in to a hole you can't even see (Unused)" (probably due to excessive alien profanity)
