Really? I watched more of the video, and if it were fake it was very elaborate.I thought this was a joke untill i saw it came directly from ninty
Cuz money. Or an excuse to patch sighaxReally? I watched more of the video, and if it were fake it was very elaborate.
The whole point of the 2DS is that you give it to kids and it's practically unbreakable. Why would they give it the clamshell design?

Sighax might be patched.
Comes out in Australia on June 15 so there's a chance it might.I would imagine they would just be using the same cpu as the normal n3ds, but then again making a new console type might give them an excuse to produce new chips with a fixed bootrom which will then find their way into newer n3ds consoles too
that or they will all ship on 11.3
Think they're just repackaging stock to sell the rest of their N3DSXLs.I wish they would concentrate on the Switch (It needs it) and just let the 3DS hit EOL already, while releasing games until the Switch is up to par. Just one man's opinion.

Either way, different parts of Nintendo work on different things. There's probably plenty of Switch work going on behind the scenes.
I don't know if this this has been asked... What would be the size of prot_boot9.bin? Can anyone give atleast an approximate value?
Let's actually really face it, Nintendo is just going to do the same with their new system that they did with the 2DS. It's just going to be a New3DS crammed into a new shell, nothing else. Maybe a slightly different chip for the display so it doesn't softlock.Let's face it, it's going to be pretty hard for Nintendo to actually manufacture the New Nintendo 2DS XL to have a bootrom with both sighax and arm9loaderhax being patched. The one thing they can quite possibly patch pretty easily with a hardware revision, is arm9loaderhax. But as for sighax, it's gonna require a capacitor inside the SoC if sighax was to be patched, but even that can lead to other problems as well (such as overheating), from what Hedgeburg explained in an earlier stream.
Yes, it's possible to patch it with a hardware revision, but it has to be done in a way that won't break the system (which they won't want to lose). But I'm positive that A9LH will be patched for sure. Just not SigHax.
