Hi, I accidently installed my game twice, I'm unable to find a duplicate copy of the game on my Wii U but I think it did take my storage space. Anyway to find out?

Hi- similar Problem here.
2 Months ago i Installed a Wii U Game (Zelda) which i Grabbed via Wii U USB Helper to internal Flash by WUD Installer. I did not power on my Wii U for months.

Today Zelda was not anymore in the Wii U Home Menu- also i can not find anythink under Settings - Data to uninstall. But my WII U internal Storage is full.
Can someone Help me? Why is it anymore in the Wii Menu Home and how can i uninstall / get it back?

Installing the same game to the same device will replace the existing one. That's not a problem. If you put the game on both sysNAND and USB, it'll appear on both devices in Data Management, and you can remove it from the one that you don't want it on.

Hi there. I was wondering if there is anyway to put a game onto a usb flash drive and install it from there since my sd card is only 8 gbs and some of the games I want to install are over 12.

If you have a 32GB WiiU, and can clear enough space for the game on your system storage (NAND, not USB), you can copy the files to /install on a FAT32-formatted USB stick, create a /usr folder on that drive, add the /wiiu/apps folder from your SD, and run the FAT32 pre-release of Mocha to mount that as if it were your SD. Then install as you would your smaller games. After the install completes, you can move the game to your WiiU-formatted USB and repeat with your next game.

As FAT32 Mocha matures, the requirement to install to NAND should go away.

I do have a 32gb Wii U and a 128gb flash drive so thanks for this info!

Hey everyone, I have a question.

So for a while now I have been able to install games on my Wii U using Wii U USB helper with no problem.

Today I have been trying to install Breath of the Wild on my US wii u. I got Mocha through the HB App Store, and also updated WUP installer.

However, when I go to WUP Installer now after loading Mocha, nothing shows up except the menu options, and if I press X to install to USB I get the error mcp_installgetinfo FFFBF3E2. I have never had a problem with WUP installer til today, and my install folder is on the root of my SD card. I also tried having the folder named "install" as well as "install", and I even included a backup from Wii U USB helper which I've used many times that also doesn't show up to install.

I have a 32gb US wii u, a 32gb SD card, and a 32gb thumb drive I've been using. Does anyone have any idea what I screwed up here?

EDIT: I downloaded WUP Installer GX2 from the homebrew store and now the files show up... is am I ok to use this? Are there any differences I should be aware of? Or does it work the same as the old WUP installer?

EDIT 2: I found wupinstaller mod y on the HB app store and it seems to be working, its version 1.3. I will leave this post for anyone who has the same problem I had.

Slightly odd but it seems that since introducing a USB HDD my Wii U freezes sporadically but often (locks up and the music is frozen, no error code, plug needs pulling) could this be related to the USB HDD or is it purely coincidental?

Edit update: Happens without the USB, how odd.

Hello, I have a little problem with my WiiU. I had a bogus install installed on my WiiU (in the Rednand), and now there is a "???" icon in there. I tried deleting it, but it gives me a system error and I have to reboot the console. What should I do to remove it? And if I accidentally run that, will I brick my WiiU?

Hi peeps, I've used loadiine for ages now, never bothered moving onto USB loading since pretty much all my games are legit anyway. But the new Zelda is making me think maybe I should now bother, don't fancy the loadiine load times so much.
So I've got a big external hard drive already hooked up to the WiiU, with a couple of (bought, legit) games installed on it, along with (I think?) various updates to games I own on disc. What I'm not clear about is, if I get USB loading going (with Haxchi or whatever it's called), will that mean that whatever is currently on that external HD will be wiped? Or can I get everything running and install Zelda on to that HD without having to format it?

You won't lose what's on your WiiU hard drive. You're adding to it, in basically the same way that an eShop download would.

OK cool splendid, thanks. Could you tell me in a nutshell what the quickest & simplest way of setting it up is? My brain is slightly fried by the various Brazilian / Haxchi / USB loading advice here.

Buy a Haxchi compatible game. Skip steps 4 and 5. For step 6, obtain installation files from your discs as written, or get them from an app like WiiU USB Loader and resume at Phase 3. Skip step 7 for now.

Remember to run Haxchi's sysmenu option (press no buttons if you followed flimflam's tutorial properly) after each reboot, before you try to install or run anything that doesn't have a legitimate ticket. (Like right now, BOTW EUR has a legit ticket, but the update doesn't, so you need to run Haxchi before BOTW will install or run.)

If I start playing a game from retail disc, is it possible to download only the game's DLC afterwards using Wii U Helper or similar tools?

I assume that I would need to run Haxchi/Mocha before running the game even if it's from disc for the DLC to work. That's fine. I just want to make sure that I can run the game with non legit DLC + disc or whether I would have to install the entire game along with the DLC instead of playing from disc.

Yes, just install the DLC to whatever device has that game's save/update (and run sigpatching as you said.) Take a look at the size of your game in WiiU USB Helper though. If you can spare the space, it'll save wear on your drive's laser. (Mine is an ND02, and I can't find a replacement laser for it.)

Does the speed of the drive you use affect gameplay? I am wondering wether a 5400rpm vs 7200rpm makes any noticeable difference on the Wii U?

Probably not or not by a lot. The bottleneck is the USB port 2.0 not 3.0, the 2GB RAM max. Its not a PS4/XB1 with 8GB of RAM.

There is a lot of difference between SD/USB stick and an USB HDD, in favour of the HDD. All loading is pretty fast on my 1TB WD Essential drive which is 5400 RPM and I think 4 years old or something like that.

WiiU formatted flash should be at least as good as the USB HD when running the games. Some sticks have really bad writes though.

Haxchi will do signature and region patches. You don't need anything additional. If you get Homebrew Launcher when you run Haxchi (the default), Run Haxchi again and hold B while it loads.

You have to do that after each system restart, before you try to install or run non-purchased DLC or out-of-region titles.
