Hey guys I have 2 o3DS that I'm gonna be selling to gamestop for some quick cash and just wanted to have it on the latest firmware for them. My other o3DS is running a9lh and I would like to set it back to a normal factory 3DS.
So if I could get help with both of those I'd very much appreciate it!

No brick occurs when updating from 9.2

You could get more money by selling the hacked 3DS to someone because now 11.3 is out and is not hackable so there are people left without CFW because they are already on 11.3

If you still want to sell it to Gamestop then use Kecleon patch to hide the fact you have A9LH. The method seems dubious as far as using it against Nintendo goes (some people use this, then send their consoles to be fixed to Nintendo), but there's no way someone working in Gamestop is so knowledgeable that he'd know to look for it in the first place.

Question: Can't I just simply remove my a9lh SD card, pop a new SD card in, and treat it like a "new" console?

The luma payload is still on ctrnand and has to remain on ctrnand for the 3ds to boot with no sd card or no payload on the card. Holding select on boot with no sd card or no payload will show the luma menu revealing you have a9lh. That patch that was mentioned above is the right choice to do

Okay so use the Kecleon patch to hide the menu and I should be able to take it in with no SD card right?

Don't you have a nand backup from before you installed a9lh? You should have one if you followed the guide. If so, just restore it with decrypt9

I wouldn't do that. You've got to consider the next person who will be using the console. They won't know that it has CFW on it and a future update might break compatibility requiring a Luma update and they will just be left with a "bricked" 3DS. It's not nice to do that to the next owner.
The best way to remove any trace of CFW is to restore the NAND backup you made before installing A9LH. If you don't have the NAND backup anymore, remove arm9loaderhax.bin from CTRNAND if you have it, then uninstall with SafeA9LHInstaller.
I'm reading that the latest version (2.6.7) causes bricks
I think that's just referring to the very specific scenario where an OTP.bin from another 3DS was left behind and it used the OTP.bin instead of the OTP from the 3DS when on 2.1. That's why Plailect forked SafeA9LHInstaller, to modify that so it will always prefer the OTP from the 3DS when on 2.1, so that kind of situation doesn't occur. Unless there's been some new bug introduced to SafeA9LHInstaller recently that I haven't heard about.

Don't worry I've decided to sell the a9lh 3ds online to at least someone who's knowledgeable about Luma and hacking. My other 3DS on the other hand is perfectly fine now and I'll be getting rid of shortly.

Thanks everyone for all the replies and help!
