Sorry to hear about your 3DS.

Do you happen to have another 3DS with CFW?
Right now I'm just riding the Sun/Moon train like many people, but there's something I've been working on for a while that I'd love for you to test out...

My mom happened to have an extra Majoras Mask XL that she bought at the same time as mine, but she was saving it for "collectors value" (you know what that means). She gave it to me because she knew how heartbroken I was over it and everything, but I wasn't ready to move on just yet (and I'm still not).

But when my preordered Sun and Moon came I just kinda snapped. Threw the games across the room and got upset because lol good timing. And then I spent the rest of the night setting up Luma on my "new" 3ds.

So tldr: yes, I have a CFW 3ds ready, it's just not the same you know? Despite the system being like.. literally the same. same screen types, same model, even a really similar serial number. I can test whatever you need man. (is it special? is it something I like? ... Is it Towel!Niles?)

People have looked into importing the models, and unfortunately they aren't very compatible with Fates, and can't be used in this game.

First,I wonder if people are developing a method to somehow convert Awakening models to Fates models?
Second, How come the Awakening models don't work yet? I mean, these games run on almost the exact same engine and the same file formats.

Portraits, names, and custom classes are all pretty well understood and this point.

I know that Portraits, names are a possibility, but most important of all, How do i make a Custom Class from scratch? (Via HANS patches or Custom DLC) Can you at least link me a tutorial on the subject?

And now for something completely different.

I wonder if it's possible to make custom items and weapons? (Again,Via HANS patches or Custom DLC)

Personally I wanted a "Cleric's Seal", so that my favorite bond unit can have Lissa's outfit but I was told it would look dumb at some point

Adding weapons is completely possible, remember the pebble? That weapon doesn't exist in the main game. And the pebble is usable online.

Adding weapons is also the reason there are people running around in PvP with 99 MT infinite range Brave weapons with 255 crit.

I thought you had an issue with conflicting item ID's or something, which is why instead of giving Chrom his Falchion, you just used Lucina's?

I'm probably remembering it all wrong, but. eh.

Like, imagine the Monado from Xenoblade Chronicles or the Lance of Longinus From Neon Genesis Evangelion! The possibilities are just endless!

Nah, it's just that Chrom's Falchion is pretty bad in Fates, the only thing it had going for it in Awakening was Infinite uses in a game with Durability and Effective Damage vs Dragons.

In Fates, everything is Infinite so that's not a point in its favor, heck, a Bronze Sword/Katana has he same mt as Chrom's Falchion, so at that point I'd rather just use Parallel Falchion, or if you're really inclined, you can buy Lucina's Estoc, and forge it to rename it to Falchion.

Classes are a bit odd because you're basically limited to the files already in the game. I've made a working manakete class though I'm not satisfied with it at this point and I haven't released it yet.

There are no tutorials on making the custom dlc at this point in time.

Making it open source doesn't make much a difference if only like 2 people understand custom classes though

Sorry about the wait, but I'll go ahead and give a little update on the status of the randomizer. At the moment, I've set things up so that you can randomize join order and classes for all characters in a route, with cutscene adjustments to match the new join order. I went ahead and added options for changing every cutscene in the route to match the join order and same-sex swaps only so that the pronouns match up with the character. I've still got a couple of issues to work through before I'd consider the randomizer ready for release. Most notably, swapping out 3D models in cutscenes is very unstable at the moment due to the way Fates' bev script files are set up. Additionally, I still need to add in a way for the randomizer to also swap out every version of a character. For instance, Takumi has a normal ID and a special ID for chapter 6. Even if the normal version switches with another character, you'll still encounter Takumi in chapter 6 because of the special ID. Once these two issues are fixed everything should be ready to go, but I can't really give a solid date on when that will be.

The tool's still missing some features and you might run into some rare glitches with text, but everything's functional otherwise. I could try and put out a beta some time this weekend if anyone's interested in trying it out even with those issues.
