Unless it plays the same games, just in a more mobile friendly form. After a few years, when the tech being cheaper...so not a new console so much as a "Switch Go". or "NEW Switch" lol. that seems....slightly more reasonable, but even then.

Seen a few peeps claiming investors were told by nintendo, there won't be a portable only Switch til at least late 2018. If true i could see a portable only Switch being the true 3DS successor and no need for another handheld. Nintendo should pressure devs to make New 3DS exclusives but without the 3D and tap into the power left behind without the 3d in the meantime

Yeah I see a portable switch happening. If it's replacing the 3DS I wonder if it will retain the DS features like clamshell, etc...

Recently Nintendo has said

consumers would realise very quickly that Switch is different from the 3DS

Looks like they want to keep the DS brand alive and seperate thing of its own, they are supporting the 3DS well in 2017 and it will have its own successor later I take it.
