I remember being hyped for this game when it was shown at E3, then I forgot the game exist until like a month or so ago. I never planned to buy it.

Well, if you go on their website, job section pretty much says they want people who like fooling around and laugh while eating etc.. so it kinda explain how they are and what they been doing for the last couple of years..they should hire someone that would remind them once in a while ''STOP FOOLING AROUND AND WORK DAMMIT!!''

I was surprised this was ever released. I thought it would be stuck in development until money ran out. There are numerous dedicated coders who also goof off. If I had to guess I think all of them worked way harder and more hours than you have for the last five years.

And i dont have anything against fooling around, if the job is done! But fooling around, and telling features that arnt there..well, that makes them people who fools without delevering the marchandise :P

tbh the team was small, i feel they just got swept up in the media whirlwind and hype.....if there hadn't been all the hype then i imagine it would have been more positively received (and if it had given a indie game pricetag)

I agree! They should have give less expectations and people wouldnt even bitch them..since people would have knows what to await from it.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I'll still play this game.
I never overhype games cause I know it'll lead to disappointment.
GTA 5...
And you should! Its actually pretty nice of a game, really enjoyable, and its now more stable then before, and, there will/should be new features added soon...hopefully :P

tbh i think the problem fell with sony and its desire to push this in the faces of people, its like when people big other up and say "ohhhh tom is a amazing singer, you should pay to go see him" when you get there you find he is a okish singer....good if you knew him, but not worth traveling 200 miles to go see....its not tom's fault that people over sold him, and sure he could have said "ohhh im not actually as good as people are selling me as".....but seriously who would do that :P

yeah im willing to accept that maybe they just thought that they could achieve what they promised and found themselves sinking once people bought into their little lies.....at least i hope thats what it was.

all the interviews i have seen now in hindsight looks like he is just trying to avoid saying anything that could look bad and cause a backlash before they get their sales.....and by doing that is basically promising a bunch of features that they hadn't/couldnt get into the game

You don't need to be a film maker to tell a bad video work.
You don't need to be a chef to tell a bad dish.
You don't need to be an automotive design engineer to tell a bad car.
You don't need to be a musician to tell a bad song.
You don't need to be an author to tell a bad book.
You don't need to be a photographer to tell a bad photo.
Yet it would seem some here might hold you need to be game designer/programmer/artist/whatever to comment on a game. Right then.

In any case being one of the things mentioned might help you spot things or articulate why, and I certainly have my issues with game players not knowing half as much as fans of other works (the average cinema goer probably could tell me what a dutch angle is, I doubt many game players could expound any decent amount upon the prisoner's dilemma), but it is hardly mandatory.

Also we deal in results, work may in some way be admirable but setting realistic/achievable goals is also mandated by most things that aim to do something of merit. Space games are a bit thin on the ground in recent years but they are not absent.

All this said I have no doubt the hype bubble burst, hopefully it did well for the devs and publisher, but I also wonder what amount of that might have been the initial spike you often see in mutiplayer games. Granted the devs presumably did want a "living" universe so it is probably not ideal/

Imdeed.

i hope that some of those features will see the light, now that they have more of a realistic budget.. atleast it didnt take long that they hired some new people to fix bugs right after release :P atleast they proove they kinda care to put the money on their game :P

My problem wasn't that they was criticizing the game or that he lie or exaggerated. This isn't everyone kind of game, especially if they didn't find what they thought was in the game, but
that they was being completely dismissive about the scale of the game with such a small them.

Eh Whatever.

I understand what you mean, but you did say that ''people who call them jokers probably never made a game themself'', but it haves nothing to do with this.. even if its normal to make a game with less feature since its a small team, it haves nothing to do with the fact that they lied to get more sells.. they lost 90% of their users :P ..lots of small team wont loose so much users, but them, they did because they didnt deliver what they said they would. (but like i said before, they probably will add more features in time..)
