@Leslie White how have you managed it?

@liomajor if got a fat32 32gb sd (Samsung Evo; no microsd with adapter) inside but i will test an other sd and will report.

Edit: Tried another 32GB microsd (Samsung Evo; with sdadapter) with the same result
Edit2: Tried another 4GB microsd (Kingston; with sdadapter) with the same result

sooo..i'm a newb to a9lh - going to get OTP soon.

will this allow me to boot GW from cold boot? and allow booting luma or some other cfw from a key press?

how do you use this bootgw.bin? do you have to put it in the payloads folder of luma? i didn't really understand how the process works

Yes, you could load it by putting it in the luma payload folder and naming it correctly (i.e. up_bootgw.bin). I was using CTRbootmanager9 to load it. It seems to partially boot the gateway menu correctly, but then it goes to blackscreen and freezes.

yes i renamed it as x_gw.bin because i had uncard on that. uncard is at the moment uninterssting for me and its a 'single' trigger button.

but as i said ... had not work for me

So have you guys found a way to launch gw with current a9lh/Luma (updated sysnand) setup ? Is there a link to it?

i think the only way is to reinject some payload and redo your own a9hlinstaller

on page 16 is a great solution made by liomajor. you have to 'update' your a9lh.
i could get it work on my n3ds. my o3ds makes probs

@xfcrowman i just put the required files in the a9lh folder alongside my otp, the launcher.dat from GW at the SD root, the arm9loaderhax.bin from luma at the root too, updated a9lh and voilà.

Now I can boot my GW if I press x+y at boot and luma if I don't press any button. Precision I don't have an emunand, only a 11.0 updated sysnand

My Old3ds isn't hardmodded (it's not my main 3DS though)

edit @sweatbox didn't do anything particular, I just followed liomajor's instruction from page 16

no risk of brick if we don't have a hardmod?

Not at the moment. You'll need this:

Follow the readme to a T and it will work. Also, boot from sysNAND on Luma. Do not boot from Luma EmuNAND or it will end in a black screen.

EDIT: Or follow the instructions on page 16. LOL Didn't read.

If I want to change to A/B instead of X+Y/X+A, do I just need to replace payload_stage1 and update a9lh?

1. it's indeed possible
2. Booting emunand with luma is also working.
