I found a Dark Link texture hack for Brawl, but can I also use that for 3DS Smash too?

Open the Japanese files. Go to the directory folders of "romfs\sound\vc". If th vc folder isn't there then try "romfs\data\sound\vc". Copy the vc folder and put it on your sd card as "smash\sound\vc". That replaces their voices and their chants.

Yes, in a way. You have to check how the textures for Smash 3DS are mapped. If they are close, then you can use an image editor to cut and paste different parts. Pretty much what I have to do for Brawl Falcon. I didn't want to be lazy and simply recolor him.

For everyone wanting to edit the TEX files, you can try this:
Smash 3DS TEX viewer/editor

To use you just drag a tex file on the window to open it. Then you can drag a PNG on the window to import the new image over it.
You can also change the pixel format, width, and height, but that might cause issues with size, so I'd advise against it and just use what the source file is encoded in.

Also keep the etc1tool with it. I can decode ETC1 data easily, but I'm not really into making my own encoder for it :<

the window closes straight away when opening any .tex

Is that only for that .tex file? I opened Ike's credit tex by accident and it worked fine I also opened and edited a bunch of the CSS icons and it ran fine

You can, you just gotta extract the textures and resize them.(thats what I needed to do for some "Brawl" Link textures I wanted to put in Sm4sh)

rip i was trying to open the application, not the.jar

EDIT: the colours on yours look really good, like it was on the console. mine are just really weird looking. the colours arent accurate at all

project m ultra is almost here. i can taste it. XD i wish i could try making mods but i only have a 3ds and a smartphone. i have to save money for a pc. :c and maybe start....with zero knowledge. xo noooooo whyyyyyyyyy.

Hello guys im a freaking noob here. and i was wondering if you guys, could help me with something totally unrelated to this thread. i am trying to install retroarch on my new 3ds 10.05. am i doing something wrong or is it just that ninty patched something that doesn't let me play games on it?!
