Hi Mashers, I would request a feature that disappeared with updates : the ability to hard choose the name of the launcher via the .cfg file :) I know that the updater now has an auto detect function, but I'm having an issue with it :/ My issue is that I modified the payload to load another file than boot.3dsx (in order to use with yellows8' HBLoader Launcher), and the updater is saying that the grid launcher's name is boot.3dsx :/
I guess it detects if the launcher has been started from a payload (and it deducts that it's boot.3dsx) or a boot manager (and then it finds the name it launched somehow), am I correct? So if a fix is possible I would be interested, but a manual override would work perfectly as well :) Thanks in advance and keep up the good work! :)

a modified payload is a very rare case, that's why I never considered it when I removed the functionality.

I could add support for this again, though...

you could also switch the grid launcher .3dsx and boot.3dsx (making the grid launcher boot.3dsx, and the other one a different name), and edit the payloads accordingly.

I know, but it may become more common since everyone's suggesting it on HBLoader thread ^^ IMO it's far more convenient in this case because it allows CFW auto-boot and HBLauncher on emuNand without messing with BootCTR, and even return to home menu, which you can't do with boot managers :)

Guess that's what I'm going to do right now, but that's a shitty solution I think ^^

I could add support for this again, though...

It would be great, thanks :)

Re download the starter pack from smealum.

It will have a few files in the folder. You will need one called *sploit installer and the one for oothax.

The sploit installer is a .3dsx file and the other is just an XML file with its smdh file.
Yep. I have both of those...Still no luck.

The oothax xml and smdh should be in the following setup:

Sd:/3ds/oothax.xml
Sd:/3ds/oothax.smdh
Sd:/3ds/sploitinstaller/sploitinstaller.3dsx
Sd:/3ds/sploitinstaller/sploitinstaller.smdh

The two files go just into the 3ds folder just as they are in the starter.

And with these setup correctly ironhax installer and oothax installer should show up on homebrew menu.

Can also try using Smealums launcher to see if they show up on his launcher?

And last but not least make sure you are in the latest version of GridLauncher.

I hope this helps, if it doesn't the. I honestly do not know what could be wrong...

Not exactly sure if this is possible but the ability to change the screen brightness while in the hbl would be a really nice addition. :)

I would literally have no more use for the regular menu lol.

Also, could we have the ability to put regular Home Menu applications with the rest of our apps?

There is already a request for the brightness features on Github.

If these features get added is up to mashers if he finds a way to do so.

As for the home menu option there is already a way to load games using the little home icon on the bottom left of the launcher.

ye, and I'm asking if it'd be possible to add those apps into the list of homebrew apps

would be a lot easier to simply have all my games together than separate

https://github.com/mashers/3ds_hb_menu/issues/67

Check this

If they are compatible with hans you could have hans shortcuts next to your other homebrew apps.
This is actually the best solution. Instead of messing with code just make .XML shortcuts, although this would mess with any updates the game may need.
