It can run special chip games like SMRPG at full speed. I think people were saying that it was having a little groveler trouble with Star Fox but I don't have that on my 3DS to test. This is assuming n3DS. I don't have an o3DS to test it.

You won't get fullspeed Star Fox even on an N3DS with PocketSNES, usually 40-50 fps. But it's better than CatSFC.

I gave pocketsnes a try, because of the still unfixed glitching of catsfc in DKC1. So I tested that game in pocketsnes, but I have the feeling the framerate is just a bit more choppy in it.
Also, it can't find - or can't read - the savefiles that catsfc wrote.

What game(s). I was only able to test Seiken Densetsu 3 and SMRPG gameplay, but it saved fine.

EDIT: Whoops, meant to copy and paste (using Tapatalk), but posted instead.
I cannot load a game, it hangs on boot. Same with the other cores now. Latest nightly.

So I got retroarch in my 10.3 N3DS for NES emulation, so I placed the quicknes into my 3DS folder and retroarch at the root of my SD card, everything works perfectly fine.

But then I also wanted to get nxengine and here is where I don't understand how to launch it, I did put it in my 3ds folder as with quicknes, it displays in my homebrew launcher but when I boot it, it just opens the retroarch menu, and I see no option to start it, "load content" opens my directory and nothing else.

2048 doesn't even show up in my homebrew menu.

I'm having a noob stroke right now, halp?

Go to https://github.com/libretro/nxengine-libretro and download the archive. In the archive there is a directory called "datafiles" where the full Cave Story game is. I suggest you rename the directory to something like "CaveStory" or "NX" whatever you like and drag'n drop it on your SD card (doesn't really matter where to, i keep it in a directory called "roms" in the root of my SD card where all other roms have their own directories also). After everything is done, start NXengine libretro in your homebrew browser, select Load Content, go in that directory you put the files and select "Doukutsu.exe".

You'll be surprised how good this game plays on the 3DS (at least it does on my New 3DS). :D

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.

@SylverReZ, atleast wiimmfii went fine although people only use it for Mario kart Wii
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
At least if they ban you for cheating, get another Wii. They're cheap as chips.

Remember when RiiShop was a thing?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    not really
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Brb
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
