Counter Strike 3D - CS3D Project
Now I know I should have just posted this to the sticky topic but this is a project I'm willing (with my limited abilities) to start. This won't be the Counter Strike we all know but a top down 2D version found here : http://www.cs2d.com/

Why do I want this?
The 3DS hombrew scene is lacking even at this early stage because of little community support. Developers would like to develop for a pre existing userbase. This community has far larger Piracy scene than the homebrew scene. What we need is a game that will shift focus to the homebrew scene and kickstart it. What we need is a good multilayer game. CS3D will be perfect fore this pioneering role.

What is CS3D about?
It's best to check out CS2D or if anyone is familiar with the PSP hombrew scene. A PSP homebrew developer by the name Kevin Chen developed a PSP remake CSPSP which attracted huge attention with thousands of registered players. Sadly that community died of with the PSP and Vita has only started thier homebrew scene.

That's where we can fill in. There is a game on the eshop called Undead Storm Knightmare which has the same concept and gameplay style as CS2D/CSPSP. I think it may be possible to create such a game.

What we need
Unfortunately this would need to be done from scratch however the source code for the PSP port is available here: https://github.com/kevinbchen/cspsp

We will also need a team of Coders/GFX editors/Testers who are willing to start this project with me.

I can't call myself a coder so I don't know the technical limitations behind this. That's why I present this to you for suggestion and input.

This is not a project and just an idea. Thanks for reading.

Counter-Strike 2D (and also the 3D ones remake based on Quake Engine called CS Portable) for PSP are not popular homebrews cause they don't have nothing to claim from the famous CS 1.6, CS:S, CS:GO (Like Spray control, Strategies, Tactical smokes, Tactical flashbangs and so on).
If you think this could be an awesome homebrew just look how poor this remakes are.
Talking as a CS player, Counter-Strike is based on pure skill in aim (watch ScreaM highlights - Link ), spray control (watch Shroud highlights ), tactics, footsteps hearing and so on and a 2D game will delete all these features....

Implying you're going to be playing pro on your Nintendo 3DS. :rofl2:

Implying this is not Counter-Strike.
If you create a GdR with the same maps of Dark Souls in 2D without pattern bosses, lore and so on, this is not Dark Souls 2D.

P.s. Counter-Strike is a competitive game where everyone not only pro gamers train for aim, footseps, aimspots and so on.

I can understand your words only if you haven't played it yet or you're a Silver/Nova Rank.

Sorry Rinnegatamante I think I confused you. This game will not be a 3D FPS and is just a basic 2D top down shooter. It won't be that competitive, only kill to death ratio and a leaderboard. Maybe clan support. No skills required, only who can aim first and accurately shoot will win. Oh and CSPSP was one of the top downloaded homebrews source wololo.net.
Here is a video of how the PSP version plays and what to expect from this 3DS homebrew: Link to gameplay of a Clan War

This only reason it will be called Counter Strike is because of the Guns and Maps we will base it on.

I can agree that CS is a totally different animal, but the concept would be great for the DS and it's touchscreen capabilities. I think this would be a great homebrew game, but I lack any kind of coding/programming skill to make it happen :)

Congrats, yes obviously counter strike is a competitive game! A game that involves 'Counter Strike' on the 3DS will not play competively but merely for fun due to obvious limitations. So it makes no sense to gun down a sensible addition to the 3DS homebrew scene. :P
